Booster 160 fuel consumption question.
I have a Booster 160 engine, basically the same as the Evojett Booster, that I got in a trade and have a quick question. I am looking to get 8 minute flights with 2 minutes of go around if needed. The airplane is a Velox XL and I am looking at a capacity on board of a little over 4 liters or 145 fl/oz. I don't plan or expect to use full power (15 fl/oz per min burn rate) except for T/O, vertical, and go-arounds, expect to fly 75% of the flight at half power if not a little lower. I am not even sure full power will be needed in any of these conditions but assuming the worst. I am not a speed demon, yet!
Question is...Do you guys feel this quantity will keep me in the time frames listed above, hopefully a little better? I understand that weight, drag, throttle management, and actual performance of the engine will vary, just want to get some advice before I buy the fuel tank.
I am not trying to offend by posting in this forum, as this turbine is not the new Evojett line, but a G-Booster, so if it needs to be moved to the regular jet forum I will do that. Fiqured I would post it in the forum that closely matches my turbine. Thanks in advance for any advise. Take care.

RE: Booster 160 fuel consumption question.
JR,
I can only tell you my experience with my evoJet Booster 160 so there may be differences.
I have a 160 in my MB339, I carry 5400cc's of fuel and weigh in at 54lbs at take-off...I set my timer for 10 minutes and land with the header tank just under half full. I rarely run WOT so my flying is not typical.
145oz is about 4300cc's so you are 1100cc's less than me, I think I would set my timer at 8 minutes and evaluate you fuel capacity. My gut tells me you will be ok with the times you are looking for but it is best to sneak up on it....
Hope that helps.

Dave,
Thanks for the reply. I agree, better to sneak up on it. After about 6-7 minutes I am ready to land anyways! I am thinking I will be around 30-35 dry so I would think the endurance would/might be a little better. I appreciate it. Take care.

RE: Booster 160 fuel consumption question.
Dave - Thanks for tackling this question.
JR - I fly my 160 in a flash with the wing tank installed. I fly around for 7 minutes (from wheels up) and land with about 2 minutes of reserve. Unfortunately, I don't know the combined capacity of the two Flash Tanks. Let us know if we can help you in the future.
