evojet 160 vx
I am new to jets, and recieved my waiver today on a comp arf flash with the Evojet 160 vx. Awesome engine. I do have a question.
1. On engine shut down, what temp does the process stop? It seems it started to make an odd noise that I didn't notice before. I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question. Thank you, Chris |
RE: evojet 160 vx
Chris,
No stupid questions.....The "Cool Down" usually stops at 100c. If you could take a video of the noise and email it to me, it would better help me to analyze what you are talking about. Does the motor start ok? Does it run ok? Does it only make the noise on cool down? If so, does it only make the noise when the stater engages the compressor? Also, when did you buy your engine? Did you buy it used? Thanks. Chad |
RE: evojet 160 vx
Chad,
You rock!!! The motor runs great, and I could be hearing things. I bought the engine in a comp arf flash from Rex Briant. He is a great guy. He had nothing but great things to say about you as well, and I am an Evojet guy now and in the future. The engine has 5 hours of run time on it. As stated engine starts great, runs great. It is almost like a clicking noise on shut down when starter engages compressor. Thank you for the quick response. I will send you the video next time I run the engine. Chris |

Chris, welcome to the future!

RE: evojet 160 vx
Awesome Engines!!!! I see you have the same Flash as I do. I couldn't believe how easy this jet is to Land. It really lands like a trainer with the 6mm of crow in it. I have always been an IMAC guy, but this Turbine stuff is awesome. I haven't been this enthused regarding the hobby in a long time. Love it.
As you can see, I am really excited!!! |
RE: evojet 160 vx
Chris,
If you got the plane from Rex, you got a great plane, built by a real master. Please, send the video. At first "guess", it me be the rubber o-ring slipping on the compressor nut....not a big deal. Welcome to the family. Chad |
RE: evojet 160 vx
Chad, How would I tighten the compressor nut? How could I check if it is loose? Where is it?
I am a noob, sorry |
RE: evojet 160 vx
Whoops, my fault. Your nut IS NOT LOOSE. DO NOT TRY TO TIGHTEN.
It may just be the o-ring of the starter slipping on the nut. No big deal. Send the video when you can. Chad |
