The thing I have going for me (and I dont have many :D ) is that I can run them side by side....if there is a difference (and I am sure there is) we will be able to hear it first hand.

Dave - Thanks for fielding Mike's question.

Mike, the report from the factory is that the new inner tail cone offers a significant decrease in dB, while offering a measurable increase in performance and thrust. Win - win. I am waiting to see (hear) the difference myself, with my own ears and scale, to see just how different the sound is.

Guys, there has been some delays in getting to run the new updated 90....last night was a WX delay, winds in the 50 knot range.....Hope to run her tonight and report back....

Guys,

Finally got to run (and fly) the new booster 90. The first run was at my home and honestly I can't say if the new tail cone mod was more quiet as the sound just echoes off of walls and my trailer and everything, any engine I run at home is LOUD!

The next 3 runs were in prep for flight and the bypass cover was in place making any engine quieter in operation.... what I can tell you as far as sound is she is whisper quite in flight...

I am also please to report that the 90 started on the first try, not so much as a hiccup! Started strong and is making lots of push....

I don't know the AUW of the BARF but she has no problem in the vertical!

We will try to asses the noise issue this weekend but my gut is telling me it is quieter....
