Eagle 50 Main Engine
[8D]What I want to Know is How does the Engine after a month old go bad. i have only had this Heliopter a month and started learning to fly when the Engine started smoking and would not turn anymore. I have a LHS near me that sell the NightRanger 3D and I have heard that the parts are compatable. Can some one tell me if this is true and if not what else can I do to replace the Engine. I'm going to put back the same engine that came with it (Not Brushless) I think that the are hard to install and you have to get some addtional parts to make it work. Someone please help.

RE: Eagle 50 Main Engine
Just replace the motor... there are a bunch of messages about engines and the wires
in this forum.. you can get the engines online for about $8. Make sure when you replace the engine.. that it is not pushing too tight against the main gear. |
RE: Eagle 50 Main Engine
so you think that it is the main moter too. ok, no it was not pushing to close to the main gear, it was doing fine when I was outside flying in the grass. It didn't start acting up utilll came inside to check the blades, then when I started to power up that's when it started smoking and would not move. Everything else works but the main moter. Do you know if the moter comes ready to install or do you have to puts some wires on it? (pictures online don't show anything)
Thanks |
RE: Eagle 50 Main Engine
"no it was not pushing to close to the main gear,"
I was speaking about when you replace it... The motors can burn out at any time... well, that is they aren't supposed too but we are talking about a little motor that costs $8... The new motors can come with the wires attached or not.. it just depends on the supplier's stock... and I have gotten them with the wires reversed http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6720506/tm.htm wires correctly attached http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6766745/tm.htm Also look and see if the rubber bands that hold the battery up or any wires aren't rubbing the main gear which will cause undue friction on the main motor... decreasing it's life. Expect motors to burn out... it used to be an issue with the tail motors from what I have read... mine have been ok.. and many people install heat sinks on the motors to help the longevity of the motor. You will notice they run hot. Don't forget heat sink compound (Radio Shack) when you install heat sinks just like on computer chips. oh and I forgot about your original question about the Night Ranger.. yes compatible as are all the parts for the Walkera 22E ... the Eagle 50 is clones of them both... but, and I will stand corrected... look for Walkera 22E parts that boast "newer" version particularly in the electronics ie batteries, receivers... |
RE: Eagle 50 Main Engine
ok, thanks for the information. I'm going to replace it hopefully next weekwhen the guy comes back in town that owns the hobby shop. He carries the night ranger 3d parts.
