Default Weston Magnum questions...

Hey,
I'm really thinking about getting this plane in the arf version without the engine. Only Problem is, that I still have some question for you guys out there:

1. Would my Os. 46 Fx fit in there (Probably yes) but will the plane still fly like a rocket?

2. Is the wing and fuselage made of foam?

3. Can I install retracts or fixed landing gear?

4. Is it really hard to fly?

5. Any comments on that plane?

If I buy this plane it's gonna be my 10 th (I think).

It should fly fast enough for most people with a 46FX

2. Is the wing and fuselage made of foam?
The wing is foam (with balsasheets), but the fuselage is built up of plywood with balsa for horizontal and vertical stabilizer.

3. Can I install retracts or fixed landing gear?
Fixed taildragger LG is no problem to install, but there is not enough room in the wing for retracts. Simply too thin.

4. Is it really hard to fly?
Not at all. It is fast, and has a high roll-rate, but it's really not hard to fly.

5. Any comments on that plane?
Make a search for "Magnum" in this forum, and you'll find all the comments, hints, and tips you'll ever need.

Enjoy!

The magnum is very easy to fly, so long as it's going fast, but ALWAYS keep teh speed up, it falls out of the sky without power. You have to stay 3 steps ahead of it or it will be gone quick. When power is off it falls fast, you can't possibly have enough elevator, but it's very predictable.
It's a blast, but I'll tell you, for what those WEST 50's run like, I don't know why anyone would pass them up, the price of the arf with engine and pipe is amazing and these engines are incredible, I have 2 of them and I love them!!!!

It needs 3 servo's to fly and nothing special needed, just some epoxy and CA.
