Despite the modest 770kV rating, we should be able to coax some decent speed out of it with a 6S pack and 10X10 APC E prop. But my buddy would likely prefer a larger 5S pack and the less frantic pace.

A 6S 2500 will not be a pig and will give enough flight time. eCalc says 2m full bore, 12m mixed flight time. So let's say 3m then...
I am really looking forward to flying this one.

Looking nice and clean yet sinister power package Mike, what is the 6S /2500 C rating?
17.1k nominal with 10P / 162mph should get 150 out of that /8.4lbs thrust / 3.6hp / 2.68Kw
should nuke the battery pack in short order 2mins but you need to leave 20% min in the pack
after heavy amp surges so full throttle passes and cruise on the back legs to not puff the cells.
Seen these?
Turnigy Bolt 3400mAh 6S 22.8V 65~130C High Voltage Lipoly Pack (LiHV)

How are the Turnigy HV packs working for you in 50-60C setups? I never tried them, but I'm curious of course.
Personally I'm a fan of the Turnigy Zippy packs, somehow they seem to deliver more bang for less bucks compared to the expensive "A-Spec" lipo's.

I was running a Tacon Bigfoot 32, a very similar motor on a Phoenix models Sonic. These were my actual numbers:
10x10E 6x3300(22.39vm) 12500 rpms 53.63 amps 1230 watts 6.59 lb expected thrust 118 mph pitch speed.

Pretty close indeed. l I think it will be a fun and peppy power package for a guy who will feel over his head at 120mph for a while to come.
What about the flight performance?
