Ravenator flies awesome!
This is a scratch built twin I just finished and flew today for the first time. It has a pair of OS 32SX's on it with a pair of apc 8X8 props. It weighs just under six pounds. It is very fast. I used the naca 0012 airfoil(very thin). It has a center flap and flaperons. I used the flaperons for takeoff. But after some no flap slow flight I decided to land with out them. It landed very slowly suprisingly. I will test the envelope on future flights. The coolest thing was the sound with the props in sync. No idea how fast ,but what a blast during the low high speed passes. I will have to lower my control throws though, dont need very much even at half throttle. Once I do that I will try some full power passes and see what shes got. Wish me luck.

I am flying again today and will let you all know how it goes. Its going to snow later. Right now it is 27 degrees with a strong south wind. Wish I could figure out a way to use gloves while I fly. Maybe the ones without fingertips. Has anyone used them?

Good job FLYNEVER,
I've noticed you still have some speed margin! Why don't u use tuned pipes ? She may be faster ...
Are u a 'Batman' fan (paint job) ?

RE: Ravenator flies awesome!
.....Great suggestion on the tuned pipe, but which one would be good for the 32sx, how much do they weigh and seems like alot of drag hanging out there. The flight yesterday went great, very stable at all speeds and much less twitchy with shorter throws. My buddy was flying and lost an engine at altitude and didin't even notice it until he turned around and could hear the difference in prop noise. It flew great, hardly any yaw. I took over the controls for the landing (some friend). It was uneventful. Flew a couple more times and started to open it up. Got some of it on video. It is very fast. On the low passes with the trees in the background you can really get the feel for how fast it is. It was an overcast day and extremely hard to tell which way it was going. You cant take your eye off for a second, or it would be gone. On the video it turns into a speck in no time. Not too much time spent in level flight. But as with all speed freaks I want more speed so I have been using 15%. Any recommends for higher nitro fuels or am I going to blow my buddies engines up.

If you want more speed... put a couple of Jett BSE .30's on it...
Although I have never had a MACS Products pipe in my hand they look like a very nice product. Don't get the quiet pipes though, because they are baffled, while their muffled tuned pipes are full wave tuned pipes with an added muffler. The latter bring slightly more top end power, at the expense of smooth throttling.
If you start adding up the price of two complete tuned pipe setups... the price of a couple of Jett engines with Jettstream mufflers isn't that much more... and the Jetts will still be faster than the OS's on tuned pipes... Not to mention the fact that these BSE engines just look gorgeous!
For another 500$ you will have the coolest looking twin engined speed plane in the western hemisphere...lol...
I really like your design... it looks plain fast just sitting on the ground!

RE: Ravenator flies awesome!
We'll try to get some video of this thing flying this week on here. Our computer skills together might be able to make it happen..haha. But I do have to say it flies great. The only draw back is the visibility of it. maybe a different paint job or something but if this thing gets out of sight for a second......I dont want to think about it. But it is very fast, flies great, extremely responsive, handles an engine failure like nothing i've seen or heard of and low speed characteristics are very stable. I'm gonna try to get flynfvr to draw up some plans for it and maybe we can sell them...who knows.
