Has anyone here used the B&D pneumatic retracts on the patriot? I read on here that a few people have used them, and the price is certainly right as compared to the other brands out there. Tower Hobbies has them for around $75.00. I ordered a set of them. I was mainly courious how well they fit, perform and the durability of them in this set-up.
Thanks,

I've not used them, but a fellow in my club uses them all the time. Can't beat the price and he says they are no different than the bottom line Robart retracts. What I like about the B & D is you get the air reservoir, valve and all the accesories you need. I never did understand why Robart sells everything separate. I suppose they do because they can!

Ah, the beauty of using a pumped engine for power!!! I put the airtank above the nose gear where the fuel tank is supposed to go and put the fuel tank in the big empty cavern over the wing! Works great! Remember, you need a fuel pump!

hello guys.
I´m planning to use B&D tricycle retracts s ystem ( $74.00 at tower hobbies) in a low wing scale project around 80", weigthing aroun 4.5 - 5 kilos ( 10 pounds.
I don´t know thr retracts, but could they stand the landings of a model this size???
I´m a experienced modeloer, I do not gonna smash the nose in the grass, just planning gentle touch down and studd like that.
At least, the struts coud be replaced fort thicker ones???
Thanks for any inputs.
It neccesary to get retracts first before I cut the firsdt balsa rip in my project...it´s all about planning, you know.
check my last scale project at: "construccion escala" at
