DAGORED FLAPERONS
Need some input on using flaperons. Using a mix feature on a futaba radio,,to get the ailerons to act as flaps when landing.. Ive have many different reasons from friends, for not using the feature, like tip stalling..but its seems like a good way to slow down on landing with out putting flaps on ..[] best way to seal the ailerons???

I'm not a Futaba guy, however, I think if you use the 2 channels that are available for the ailerons, you shoudn't have too much of a problem mixing in flaps (flaperons) to aid in the landing. Also, using this feature, would lessen the chance of "tip" stalling, not increase it.
What kind of plane is this? What size plane/motor you running?

Hi,
As far as the tip stall thing, with both ailerons lowered, the effective AOA of that section of the wing increases. Since most ailerons are at the wing tips, the increased AOA, at the tips, could lead to tips stalling before wing root---not what you want!!

I use flaperons on my WM Dago red. Not much though maybe a 1/4" down. This plane need all the help it can get to slow down on landing. Don't forget to mix in a little bit of up elevator too. I use the airbreak function and swith to activate mine, futaba 6xa radio.

I use flaperons on a pattern and a dago red... But I have them both go up!... this then acts as a reflex airfoil and slows down the aircraft and does whAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR..
