I never had fuel draw problems...Why not try a bubble-jett tank? That may help--

Like Razor said try a bubble-jet tank I have them on all my high revving engines and never a fuel draw problem and you can run them dry with out the engine going lean.

I'm getting one of these and wanted to know if anyone had issues with 2.4 Rx signal inside the composite frame. There were no issues with 72mh so it's likely a moot point.

Hey there.
carbon fibre is what shields a 2.4 system from receiving, so if there isn't carbon fibre in the airframe than no worries. Even if there is just some CF here a there for strength, and not full CF, than no worries either. Fibreglass has no issues.

Thanks, kind of thought that would be the case.

My attempt to get a Whiplash beck in Feb failed but I have a new/old one coming. Read a bunch of threads and will go with
OS 46SF with tuned pipe
HS-7985 elevon servos, 4-40 rods with ball links at servo arm
Robart 3/4in super ball link control horns
Dubro over-ride servo saver for throttle
Locktite the snot out of everything

Looking for a Launcher. Placed a Want Ad here on RCU. If someone has very good to excellent one and is willing to sell drop me a PM.

Pete,

The Whiplash is just like the Diamond Dust. You don't need a launcher. I Just hold mine by a wing tip, leaving one tip on the ground. When you are ready to go just raise your arm gently and off you go. Obviously get a friend to help until it is trimmed.

With a strong .46 and a 9 x 8 prop you should have enough thrust to launch it almost vertical right out of your hands and see 150 mph+ flights.

I was planning to try both an APC 9x7 and a 9x8 from what I read those were the best choices with the OS46 on a pipe. Sounds like I should try the 9x8 first.

It was that first launch and trim flight that had me thinking of a launcher. My Outlaw with an OS 35FP and mousse can pipe was held by the stab and flew out of my hand at a little over half throttle but that is a lighter Delta kit built weighted 3.25 lb.

Thanks,
Pete

I would start with a 9x7 just to make sure you have a TON of thrust then work your way up in pitch. Can you get a buddy to come with for the trim/test flights? Don't forget to allow for a little torquey-roll on launch, tilt it to the right a little-

and POST PICS!

Since it's made of unobtanium it's worth what the buyer is willing to pay of it.

It depends on which Whiplash you have...
1st gen with stiff hinges
Whiplash Extreme done in carbon fiber/kevlar $$$ very few made, and cost about 2x of standard whiplash
Whiplash X the last run fiberglass and good hinges

It is a Whiplash X got it right before ACM stopped making them. Bought it to replace my Whiplash that I broke the motor mount in a crash. But I had put my Jett 50 in another plane that lost a receiver and went nose in on a frozen pond breaking the case. It has sat on a self since then.

You can buy a crankcase from Jett, but make sure the crankshaft is not bent.
I sent my Jett .50 fire in after a whiplash went down.
Its been waiting for me to finish a Diamond Dust.

bummer on your F3D-30. Mine has OS.32SX and Macs muffler.

I don't know what I am going to do with the Jett. I am into drones and FPV planes now. I did have a lot of fun with the Whiplash and the F3D.
