Default Another Shrike is born !!!!

Well i now have the .21 rossi shrike ready for flight. I test ran the Rossi and it turns the 8x6 APC at 24,350 on 30% magnum heli fuel. I'am working on a secound shrike now i went to a 40 size airframe for the OPS 60. I hope to fly them both this weekend! .

Here is a couple of pics let me know what you guys think ?

Me likes!, snarling rear exhaust, oversized, high RPM engines on the both of 'em...
happy contrails, C.R.

HI COONY! You're the SHRIKEMEISTER! The 21 ROSSI/plane combo should bring a smile to your face that wont come off for awhile![8D] It will be interesting to see which one ends up being your favorite, the 10 or the 40.

Well the shrike is dead dead dead. I'am not real sure what happend. We changed props on it today went to a 6x8 apc (home made) and the plane was just blistering fast!!! .

But i did a what i call a vulcan death dive, well it died!!!!!!! The first dive was awsome plane came by so fast it was like it was in frames, like it was a film that was skipping frames. On the secound dive the plane started to pull out but it was like it was slideing down in the air. Then when it was almost level it was like it the wing stalled and started rolling side to side like it was snapping. Maybe it had a high speed stall. I dont know i have never seen nothing like it. But here is some pics for your enjoyment !!! [:@].

Wow... that thing went in pretty hard...

It sounds like a high speed stall indeed.
I can get my Magnum to do that too... the first time it happened during a hard low level turn and it took me an instant to figure out what was going on. Luckily it rolled upward, and not down... I stopped doing vertical dives with sudden low level pull outs after that. My pull outs are a little more gently now.
Actually, I'm still in doubt a little if was a real stall, or just an elevator half giving in or something similar...

Yep there is going to be a V3, heck i have 3 more kits one is a 40 i wonder if i will ever learn? I'am almost in the impresion that i need to find a new style airframe not real sure the shrike is made for extreme speed. Oh well 3 more strike's and i'am out of the shrike business and will have to find something else to put the motors in. [&:]

WOW! It doesn't get much UGLIER than that[X(]! I suspect the difference between when everything was working perfectly to when things got out of whack, it could have been servo mount screws that backed out, a loose servo mount, a loose hinge, cracked spar, etc. In other words just about anything that could possibly go wrong no matter what airframe you put that screamin' engine in. I think that when you get above 20,000 with just about any engine from .15 on up that vibration works it's magic . Too bad vibration can't be trained to tighten things as they run? Hopefully you can salvage the high dollar items, and do an autopsy to see a possible cause.

I don't think that they make the Rossi 21 in that form any more. I think all you can buy is a Nova Rossi and that aint the same IMO. You could try morris hobbies maybe they still have one in stock but i kinda doubt it.

Correct, coony2787 has the old style Rossi. Stick with a customized ROSSI MARANELLO or the actual NOVAROSSI RX series. Pricey toys, especially the spare parts, but hot performers...

I mean real hot
