Default SMASH a 1.08 magnum/Hanger 9 mustang

I MUST smash my roommates 1.08 magnum powered hanger 9 .60 sized mustang. I am looking for a forty sized plane that is usually tail heavy and overbuilt. I want to over power the s*it out of it and want your advice on what to buy! He is a nice guy and MUST lose. I am building a .40 size uproar with a OS .50SX which I am pretty sure will loose to his mustang because of the fun fly wing. I am going for a SPEED plane this time and want a NO HOLDS BARRED plane that will kick his as*. You no just for the sport of it. Bring on the advice. THANKS DAVE

Sounds like a fun topic!

What are your preferences? Landing gear? Warbird? Do you have an engine in mind or are you shopping for one?

We need info.

Here are some quick thoughts:

Warbird- WM Dago/Voodoo mustang with a YS-110 or Jett-90

Propjet: Patriot

LG optional: Whiplash or Diamond Dust

Cheap: Sonic/Predator/Viper Q-500

Well he needs to be punished so its pretty open. I would like to have retracts and try to keep it rather cheap. Actually the cheaper the better. It would hurt more if it was REAL cheap! I have an OS .91 Surpass, .46AX, and a .50SX. I am open for buying something hotter though. It would be real nice to have a decent looking plane though. The fun part of the whole thing is that I have a few weeks to work it out before he gets back from Kuwait. He is protecting our liberty's now but is excited to be coming home. He will be to disappointed to come home to a butt whipping. But I feel it is in order because of all the sh*t he has been talking via E-mail. I drive a hatchback so it needs to either have a removable wing or be rather small. I have considered a 500 but think that they are just boring to look at. The plane needs a little flash because we are dealing with a P51 here. I also have thought about a TT Rare Bear but am coming up a little short on ideas. I think the Rare bear is a little bit on the large side of things though. I know that it has a 63" wing span but the frontal area seems so large that I feel that there must be something else out there that would inflict a larger percentage of pain than the Rare Bear would. Please help me dish out a large slice of "Humble Pie". Bring on the ideas for pain!!!!! Thanks again Dave.

P.S. - The soon to be looser's (with your help) name is Dustin.

Some info on him.
1. Computer geek
2. Mechanically inept
3. Dirty Roommate
4. Short - 5'4"
5. Due for a whipping!!!
6. Good fair guy - he will compete -

P.P.S. I am using HIS computer right now.

1)Whiplash X and dubb jett fire 50 !!!!!!!
pay extra for dubb to break in and tune it
he has two pipes to offer quiet and the rat if noise is not a problem

2)Magnum and the UK50 is a great combo my buddy has one

3)buy my CAI Razor and Jetcat P-80 this will do 200 MPH++

hmmmm cheap end would be a Diamond dust. + your engine and a Pipe
but both of your OS are not the high revers really needed

Some good suggestions so far.....

Unless you 'have' to stay in that large warbird catagory,

My candidate:

Matney Models Zoomer with the thin, tapered wings........
Jett SJ-50, speed configuration with the SS racing muffler
(or if you want to run the OS50, put the SS muffler on it..... will help it as much as possible)
APC 8.8x9.0 prop

Fixed gear with racing wheels (q500 style). Save the $100 for the retract installation and spend it on the engine.

Smooth flying, aerobatic...... quick..... slows up nicely to land.

Relatively inexpensive ..... effective relief from your ailment

Figure 140+ mph easily. Drag of the big P-51 cant keep up with that no matter why you power it with.

That ZOOMER sure looks to be what I need. Do you guys think that a zoomer with my OS .50SX would be able to stand on the P-51 of my roomates. Looking at the power to weight AND the shapes of both planes I am thinking it should. I would really like to be able to keep the costs down to a minimum. I think I am goint to order one but I am going to hold out a week or so and see if someone comes up with something more interesting. bob27 I think you hit it right on the head with that zoomer and to everyone I SURE would like to have one of those Jett engines. They look like animals. Thanks again

If you want to beat it right, you should stay in the same category. Just to keep it fair. War bird and 60 size. Ever thing is up for grabs.
HAVE FUN!

Rudy you know that my 60 sized texan is shaped like a shoebox when compared to your p-51 so how is that so fair.

Here is another option. .60 size and Mustang style kind of but much more sleeker.

And then you have Shoestring. Another nice looking plane.

I agree with Rudy. The plane should be under the same size. Why not a H9 P51 with a Jett .90L. How about a GP Shoestring with a .91FX or even a GP Lance Air with a .91FX (reinforce the firewall on both)

If the urge is just to blow the wings off of your buddy's P51, then I would recommend something smaller, try a WM Mustang (Miss America or Dago Red scheme) and stick a .61FX (reinforce the firewall) and you have one hot speed machine.

This would definitely be a quick and agile aircraft.

If pure speed is just what you are looking for, I own a Lanier Predator with a Jett .46.... Dont take your eyes off of it, unless you want to bring home kindling for the fireplace...

Best of luck!

Well I ordered a ZOOMER today. I did get the 15% wing though. I was told that with a regular old .46 that it should go around 120mph. I will probably use my OS .50sx first to see how it goes and then maybe upgrade to a better engine if its not fast enough.

THE PARTY BEGINS NOW !!!

If you have any tips on the zoomer please feel free to PM me.

Well I have a post going on my Zoomer build but my father and I came across a great deal on a World Models - "Midget Mustang". ***** now i may end up with 2 planes that will show him up. We picked up the mustang for 195.00 with a OS.91 4-stroke. The plane is new and has never been flown and the engine has been around a bit. Good deal all around though.
