I want a fast plane!
I recently demolished my Cermark F20 and am now looking for a new fast (faster)plane. I have two turbine jets already but want a plane to fly at our local field (not suitable for a trubine). So the question is, what is a good, fast plane that flies as well as the F20? I already have various engines available, ie; 91 VRDF, Rossi 65, OS91fx etc so anything. I thought there were some composite planes around that hauled, any ideas?

HI KAPTAN KAOS!
because the term 'fast' is relative, would you please specify your objective(s) according to priority?
Do you rather want a plane that looks fast (e.g. jet like look) or do you want 'open-end speed' performance?
What is the maximum speed you would like to achive?
questions, questions

It should be capable of at least 150 mph.

Hard to suggest a speed machined based on your engines on hand........ but let me give it a try...
1) Pick up a race-ready QM40 (used, glass/foam kit, or new composite kit). Also worth looking around for some older Formula 1 airframes. Install a jett .50 engine. You get style, smoothness, and very likely over 150 mph with the correct prop. Oh, and it will throttle and idle The F-1 will be heavier and will land faster.
2)Look for some older pattern aircraft..... late 1970's early 1980's. Phoenix 7 or 8, Magic, UFO, Blue Angel, Arrow, Atlas, even some older ones like the Intruder, T2A, Peppermint Patti.... Smaller ships with thinnner wings. My old Compensator with a OS VR 61 generally flew over 120 mph. Install a current 90 or that Rossi 65 and they will move right along
3) Put the 90 or 65 on a .40 size Patriot. Can be done.

How about just another F-20. Go to Kangkeusa.com. look under ARF's. You will find what you are looking for there. Or you might try one that I have never heard of. Check this out ..... http://www.globalhobby.com/public/gallery/127520.asp

Hi
See if you can find an old ez Dago Red arf. I am flying one with an os df 65 and 11x8 prop, 15% and hitting 170-180 routinely if the local radar is accurate. My only modifications were to use carbon fiber on the bottom of the wing and in the wing joiner sandwich, I eliminated the belly scoop and built a stilleto type of cowl. With a .77 osdf, the performance is scarry. Presently I am building a 60 size cosmic wind (60 span inches) and going to use an osdf 91with full wave pipe
randy.
