Yes, Bert van Didden's delta certainly is one of the fastest R/C model planes worldwide.
This video has been recorded two weeks ago during an event here in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).
It is a special airframe we usually use for pulse-jets, but here converted to turbine propulsion...

Bert attested that due to the weather conditions the speeds reached weren't the best ones...
What you see in the video is about 400 to 450 kph, but that's not the limit of this combo.[>:]

speed :490 at 35 celcius outside / 548 at 15 celcius
the video shown it was over 35 celcius so you can imagine when its a little colder

we are planning for breaking the fastest rc plane record later this year or next year (600KMH)
tip: do NOT attempt to try this on ANY location
the pilot shown flyes these delta,s for over 20 years he started of with pulsejets
and he is as far i now a very good pilot to keep up this speed
we are doing the record on a closed airfield
safety and double checking everything is alsways done before we fly it on any location
all fast movements are always done away from any crowd
the turbine shuts of immidiatly on any interference how small it maybe

Awesome video!!!
Man that thing is hauling. Best part is no music drowning out engine sound in video ,we can actually hear the engine. That thing sounds violent! I love the way Turbines sound!
