RE: What size is the prop-shaft on my Rossi-45?
Well, I can tell you that it will be a nominal size, either metric or inch, probably 8mm or something
If you can't tell just by holding a ruler up to it, here is how you can find out for sure.
Cut a piece of masking tape about 1/4" wide (just easier to work with a narrow strip)
Wrap it around the prop shaft until it overlaps itself.
Cut a straight line through the tape and peel it off so it's flat.
Lay the flat piece on a ruler. Lets say it's 25mm long (just slightly over)
Take 25 divided by 3.14 = 7.96.
The shaft will be a nominal size, so round that up to 8mm and there is your size.
If you want to use inches that's fine too, (just most of these engines are in metric sizes.
If you use inches and need to convert to mm just multiply inches by 25.4 or conversly, lets say you measure in mm and it's a standard inch shaft, divide by 25.4
Of course, it's even easier to go get a $20 set of cheap digital calipers and just measure it

Gary, you beat me to that one.[sm=lol.gif] I was going to say/try the same thing. Too bad you guys are on the left coast I would have a lot of fun flying with you.
What size engines are you asking about? I have a buddy that has a few and I can go take some measurements.
