Default "Voodoo" from Somewhere

Here its is almost done. Got the G2300 up front and a Jett Stream Muffler with a 14/8 prop. Going to take it out for another run up this weekend and try and dial it in . This is that Arf that was around Ebay a few weeks ago which is the size of the Hangar 9 P-51 "Marie" w/ 65inch wing.

So there she be huh?! Looks good!
What do ya think of the overall construction? Fit and finish?
A buddy of mine today says
"I'll betcha there's a factory over there somewhere that cranks 'em out and just puts different labels on 'em"...

I don't know about that, but I see familiar features in the Seagull/Graupner/Phoenix/Black Horse ARFs...I think they're all made in Viet Nam.

I flew the $80.00, plain white box "no name" Seamaster knock-off from the snow today, and it flew great! (of course, I mean, I built it, aye!)

Overall, I am impressed so far. Construction was normal and looked good. I beefed up the firewall and retracts. The covering matches the Monokote Light purple.

I think that would be really fun with a Jett .90

I was going to go with another Jett 90 but decided against it. So I read up on the new pipe he made for the 2300. I had problems but only because I mounted the engine inverted. I also installed a square Graupner tank and lowered it about 1 1/2 inches. If I can get this up close to its rpms limits with the right prop, it'll be a mover.

That Mkland is the guy I bought it from. I think I gave $160 plus shipping. In my opinion it was worth the money.

Came from my second home, China. Happened across it while I was doing some research. It's from the YongKang factories.

Well that narrows it down a bit. I have a feeling this "Mkland" guy on ebay is the only one around selling these things. Be interesting to see what comes from that Yongkang factory that we do know about.

Did you happen to notice his shipping label? I'm trying to figure out if he's connected to the Raiden people. They cancelled their ebay id's late last year, but then morphed into a new one this year.

From what I've noticed of mkland's sales, all of his stuff comes from yongkang. It appears that the yongkang people are either copying other companies stuff, or that they make planes for other vendors, such as GP, but are then selling some on the side. Either practice is quite common for Chinese companies. I got a P-51 that I tracked down to them. The size and shape are identical to my WM P-51. The difference is in the fit and finish. It's obvious that they copied the WM design and that the 2 planes were not made by the same people. Everything about the yongkang plane says they built it as quickly, and cheaply, as possible.

The wierd part is its is a Voodoo but the photos on the directions and the box are of a Dago Red and the only company I know of doing the Dago is WM. Then illustrations in the directions are of a regular P-51 such as canopy and all. As stupid as it all is, the plane is pretty good.

Any chance the EZ is made in China? I found a complete match between the planes being sold by the guy Snoop got it from and the lineup from one of the Chinese companies. EVERY plane the guy had is in this company's portfolio. Several of them appear to be either direct knock offs from planes being sold by other companies, such as Great Planes, or this company is the one making them.

The EZ planes still have that coated foam skin, don't they? They also have a Dago Red in a newer color scheme, race #4, as compared to the WM's early 90's colors and #6...
I see that guy on ebay also sells a clone of "Marie", the H9 P-51? It looks so much like the one sold by H9 that it makes me wonder if they're made in the same place, and just packaged differently?

edit: I just checked, and it's AK-models that has the "Marie"...
A friend has their all yellow Mustang, and it flys well on a TT .46 w/Tower muffler. Good, inexpensive combo...The wing looks very much like my WM Dago's, except for balsa tips instead of 'glass.
