Default New Plane Bought At Toledo

Little thing I think it is a LR-1 .25-.32 size From Wild Hare!
If my Jett SS40 fits watch out, if not, I got to buy a BSE.32

C4F,

It does look like an LR-1, probably for the original Quarter Midget class with hot .15s.

A BSE .32 would be sweet, but beware of ending up nose-heavy. The racing .15s were very light. Most kits had long noses so they would balance.

Cool, I want one. I've got several candidate engines just waiting for a chance to nestle in that cowl.

Can you move the camera to the right on the last pic , ? The plane looks interesting and by the way nice find. I have a modeltech extra 300 .25-.36 on the way to the crib now ! cant wait to pull of a flawless knife edge.

P.S. crib = house.

When I get it I will be knocking on your door for advice . I am sort of an agressive flyer , will the plane handle me as a pilot ?

Just for you, I went to the shop to check. Mine's got a Webra .32, Futaba S3004 servos, 1250 mah nimh battery pack, and slightly larger wheels than it came with. Weighs 3.8 pounds. Definitely not a floater.

No problem, ask away. It's a pretty durable plane. My biggest complaint is I have not been able to get some of the seams to stay sealed.

Cool thanks Chuck, Mine is an ARF, so hopefully the seems will hold , You say 3.8 pounds is heavy , well I guess do to the size of plane. I will have to practice throttling down to land . I think this plane is on Real Flight g2 . I will get some practice in before madden.

Mine is an ARF too. Go over all the covering seams with an iron. The airfoil is really thin. Doesn't slow down quickly, and needs some speed landing and taking off. I had a few dead sticks while I was getting the Webra dialed in. There were no surprises, but I made sure I kept the nose pointed down.

Sorry Crazy4flight , didn't mean to step on your post [&o] but Chuck I'm planning on using flapperon set up ,and I have been practicing with my trainer. What a difference flaps make for smooth landings . Once I get it I will start a build thread from out of the box to completion . Do you think I should invest in pivet point hinges ?

I thought about adding flaperons but decided not to. The reasons included not wanting the extra weight and complexity. I also read mixed reviews about using flaperons on wings that didn't have straight trailing edges. If you're considering them to slow the landings down, I'd say don't bother. Get used to landing a bit fast, it'll be useful for other planes. The thing I like about this plane is it's not big and complicated. I've saved the bells and whistles (actually flaps, retracts, etc) for larger planes that can handle the weight better. I also just stuck with the CA hinges. They've been working fine. I'm sure something like pivot points would be better, but I didn't find them to be necessary. You could always start with the CA hinges and replace them if you find they don't work as well as you want.

One thing I definitely suggest is to not use the bolts they supplied for wheel axles. The threads chewed up the wheel hubs in a couple months. Replace them with bolt on axles. I also did not bother with the wheel pants.

I picked up one of them also at the Toledo Show. I plan on putting a MAGNUM 36 that I have laying around in mine, with FMA 105 MG servos all around. The 8 oz tank they give with the kit is way to big for that plane, so I am putting in a 4 oz tank. Don't need a long run time when you are going that fast.

Thanks Chuck I will be talking to you soon. I think the plane already arrived, UPS left the notice. I agree about the size I was itching to get a small glow plane to mess around with for some time now. So here goes nothing . .

I don't have one, I don't get to go to shows [] RC-FIEND temporarily hijacked the thread talking about his recent acquisition. He's posted a new thread on it, so this one has been returned to the plane I don't have.
