Thanks to combatpigg i now have a set of foam wingcores
today i came home to find a box sitting in the hallway, my fresh wing cores quickly popped it open, wondering how they looked, knowing that the amount of taper in the design was going to make them damn hard to cut w/o burning the foam (the root is 2 1/2 times the length of the tiip)
these cores came out looking GREAT ! Chuck even went the extra step of laying on a coat of light weight filler to get them extra smooth for me
just figured id share
time to set up a jig and build the fuse / tail

HI HRK, Glad you like them! The slow travel speed of the wire at the tips meant that the heat setting was a compromise between too cold at the root and too hot at the tip. To top it off, the quality of lumber yard foam has really gone down hill, and you are lucky if you don't run into a chunk of hard plastic anymore. Hope your project is successful!

should work out nice ... im adding about 9 inches to the middle as a fuse / additional wing area out of balsa / fiberglass and it should come in right at about a 20 oz wing loading ... i expect landings to be controlled crashes, unless i figure out a aircraft carrier style ripcord landing system....lol
