RE: F-15 Greatplanes
I see also from the plan that the wing is tightened on from underneath when infact mine is on top. Thanks for the plan. I may have to take this plane off with some lead in the nose initially as I intend on up`ing the motor size to something around 72 2-stroke, later.
I've noticed something a bit annoying this morning in that I had to spray the wing in white paint before covering to loose all the colour differences that showed through the white covering (solar span 2000) and it looks creamy against the fuz...damn. It may look even more noticable when I paint the molded deck behing the canopy.

Finished and awaiting test flight. I will hope to try the initial take off without any flaps failing that -30 degrees is dialed in on my FF9.
One of the pictures show the extra hatch I cut in to put the elevator servo and battery further back

The GP F-15 was my first plane after my trainer years ago. I flew the crap out of it for several years, 300 - 400 flights and wore out three engines with it. I rarely fly it now but every once in a while I'll dust it off and put a few more flights on it.
The plane is a bit heavy for a 40 sized engine, and since it tends to be nose heavy a 61 adds quite a bit more weight. At first I had an OS46SF on it. It flew OK, but not very jet like. Adding a Macs tuned pipe made it come alive. Top speed is probably 110 - 120 mph, and it will slow down to a crawl for landing.
I made the back of the fuse (tail cone area) removable, put the battery just under the elevator linkage, and still needed about two oz. back there to balance it.
Neil,
There is absolutely no need for flaps or flaperons on this plane. Its slow flight characteristics are very good. Landing with a nose up attitude and a little bit of power on you can slow it down to a crawl and set it down for a perfect carrier type landing. I use to have guys yelling at me that it was going to stall, but never did.
It's a fun plane. I recommend a 46 to 53 size engine with a tuned pipe.
