Force 1
Hello. everyone. I recently aquired a Force 1 with a Super Tigre .45, battery pack, fuel tank, charging jack and servos installed. All I lack is a rx. My question is would this make a good first speed plane? How are the landings ? It is set up for an elevator , ailerons, and steereable nosewheel. What would the "throws need to be on low and high rates?" I have been flying for about 6 years and have mostly flown funfly type planes. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

RE: Force 1
I have seen the exact same set-up fly, and it was real good. It seemed to be
just about the right amount of power. I don't know about the throws, but I
would probably go conservative at first....about 1/4" each way, till I found
out how sensitive it is on the controls. It's better for it to be slow on the
controls at first....and flown carefully....than it is to have a plane that is out
of control due to excessive throws.

Balsa USA still sells the kit for this plane http://www.balsausa.com/kits/kit.htp?id=32 . Send them an email, they should be able to tell you the throws.

At least it is not Pink!
That is a good combo there- I saw the one Dave mentioned and once the fuel flow problems were solved it was a sweet flier---
Good luck!

RE: Force 1
I flew it today! [X(][8D] I couldn't be happier. Rock solid performance. The take off was straight forward. Rolls were great and the landing was eaiser than I thought. I had to go around a couple of times as the Force 1 kept wanting to fly before I got it right. It settled nicely after I lined up and chopped the throttle. I set it up on low rates on 1/4" and it was fantastic. I went a little higher on the high rates and it rolled like a blender, When I dove off of turn 3 full speed it was awesome as everyone at the field stopped and watched. I was thinking of adding wing whistles but it whistles on its own. I was gonna sell it to fund another project, but not now after I flew it I will proably keep it. Thanks for all the replys.

Dead Eyes,
Just say a big 'THANK YOU' [sm=kiss.gif][sm=kiss.gif][sm=kiss.gif] to Laddie Mikulasko, the designer of this aircraft ;-). BTW, he's a RCUniverse member.
What about engine performance [:-] ? Do you think it would take advantage of any hotter engine ?

RE: Force 1
I am completing a Force One and read the mention of a fuel flow problem. I was a little concerned about the way the tank was oriented in the model, could someone bring me up to date on the fix????? Thanks!

RE: Force 1
I suppose a Rossi would be faster, but this is my first pusher plane and it is fast enough for me for now. The Super Tigre ain't the lightest engine either. Maybe a Speed Webra .32 or something. But the Super Tigre is nice and broken in and like I said it is fast enough for me for now. I'm running an APC 10x7. I traded for the palne already completed and the bugs where all worked out when I got it. All I had to do was install a rx and set the throws. I also added a spinner cone to make it easier to start. I may build one as my winter project later this year. And I my make a few mods like 1.) serperate servo for steering, 2.) possible retracts. 3.) Functional rudders. (But then if it ain't broke , I might not fix it.)[sm=thumbup.gif]

RE: Force 1
Sorry to mention the fuel thing but it can be a problem.... I just remember Gary's (Airgar) Force one and the first few flights were interrupted by fuel flow problems... He got it worked out pretty well as I recall-
Flyboy Dave might remember what it was- otherwise do a search for "Force one" and I am sure you will find it-
As mentioned Gary's had a ST-45 and it had plenty of power- But it would be fun to see a Jett-50, Rossi-45 or Webra-50GT on the back of one of those... Get a 9x8 or 9x9 APC and long runway and see what happens-It has a purty thick airfoil for all out speed though-
Rudders? Why?
