Webra 55 or OS 55AX?
I am going to put this on a "go fast" P-51. Which would be best for pylon racing?? I would think the Webra but the OS is very new, almost too new. Anyone have any ideas?

Mustangace:
The Webra should beat the pants off the os "IF" you break it in correctly!!! The OS engines are so sloppy, you can run thm WFO right out of the box, and will run well for at last 6 weedends before the cylinder plate peals off. OS does make two good engines, the 32 and 90VRDF. Yea, not a OS fan I admit.

Wow Menke! Harsh! I am not generally an OS guy either but I loved my OS-50SX. I stayed away from Mustangaces post because I have not seen or ran the Webra-55 or OS-55, but I have run the Webra-50GT and it was awesome, more power than the OS-50SX and the best throttle response I have ever seen...

RE: Webra 55 or OS 55AX?
The Webra 55 will turn a APC 9X10 @ 16,400 RPM with a red Jett muffler on 15% nitro mounted on a Diamond Dust. I get the best glow plug life using a Fox standard/short type (weird). A Hobbico silicone exhaust deflector on the Jett muffler gave me 200 more RPM on the ground. BREAK-IN THIS ENGINE CAREFULLY per instuctions on low nitro. I used the above prop & muffler for break- in on two engines no problems. Funny thing, it won't run as well with a 9x9 in the air on a Mac's tuned pipes or Jett muffler, don't bother. It seems to like the load of the 9x10 prop. On both of my engines, the clip that keeps the high speed needle from turning failed so I slid a piece of fuel tubing over it hold the setting.
The OS 55AX may be a vary good engine too, if it's anything like the 46AX. The 46 FX series was a fair motor but it seemed to get tired too soon. And the 50FX was the second worst engine I ever had. One FX exception, I think the 32 FX is the best small engine Iv'e ever owned. The AX series maybe different. I have seen two fellow club members abuse the S*** out of them. Wound out and lean runs (the heads are burnt black !) and the engines are still strong.
