Well done T-Man and reset!

Rifleman: The man said he has that thing piped... I have run wood props (Rev-up) near 19K no problems-

Did I hear Patriot and Jett-50? You will be very happy with that combo! I know I am-

Cheers!

Welcome T-man and reset. Nice looking planes, I am building a dominator right now with an mvvs q-500 .40. There is a guy at my field who flies a diamond dust with an mvvs grrt .40 and it'll book it, good luck with that reset.

Later,
Joey

If you want to be a speed freak, you must walk the walk.

seeing a Q500 Lanier with a plastic spinner, fat wheels and that wood prop with a stock mufller will not get you in the catagory of speed. Plastic spinners has a tendency of coming off over 15k RPM. Throw a decent APC pylon prop and a ultra thrust muffler if you want speed.
rifleman3754, You are right there was not much speed with the setup in the pic, like I said in my first post I have since put a pipe on it. I have also switched to an APC pylon prop, and racing wheels. I have had no problems with the Dubro spinner as it is screwed together, it would have to break in order to fall off.

Razor, I am looking forward to the patriot/jett combo. The plane is half built but will have to wait till spring for the first flights.

Do you love fast airplanes ? Do you strive to make that
plane...."just a little faster" ? Do you over-power your
planes ? Do you peak that motor to the Max.? Have you
ever scraped or sanded the numbers off your prop, so
your buddies can't be exactly sure what prop your running?

Do you have a competive spirit ? Do you stay late at the
field, after most of the fellas have left....maybe knock
back a couple cold ones....and really "let her rip"?
Have you ever blown 80 bucks on a tuned pipe, instead
of buying a new battery for the ol' vehicle ? Have you ever
refilled your 15% flight box fuel can with 20 or 30% ?
( never mind, you don't have to answer that one )

If you can answer yes to a few of these questions....you
sound like a "Speed Nut"....

If you want to have a little fun, join in. The "need for speed"
spans the Globe. We only need to promise.... not to argue
about our equiptment choices....or give out speed secrets
to anyone who lives within a 500 mile radius of your field.

Here's an application....just copy and paste. You must send
in a pic. of your "Speedster" with the application to be
assigned an Official "Revvers Brotherhood" # . I will assign
you a #, and edit it into your post....
Well, the way I see it Rifleman, T_man75-RCU qualifies just fine. according to the above. Come now, this is all for FUN....oh....and SPEED! heh heh

Some may not have the fasted thing around, but if they are here....it's already in the blood to go Mach 5 with their hair on fire.. And to me, that alone should be enuff to let them join our little band of "Brotherhood".

So I say....Welcome to T_Man, and all the other new "Brothers", and here's to low and FAST fly-by's!

Welcome guys!

Gary

Here's another of my fast planes, although she's not dimond dust fast or wiplash fast she sure is fast enough for most. A Northstar powered with an Irvine 53 spinning a APC 10x7 on 10% at 14400. Not bad for 10% fuel eh! 97 mph in level flight. A lot more in a power dive. The powerplant is still pretty new, when I've got a few more tanks thru it I will try a 10x8 APC and some 15% should haul the mail just fine. Plus the irvine is a really nice looking engine.

The A10 in the pic is really fast as well...........after a few beers and it's dark out. LOL

Wooden props can take way more rpm than plastic props like APC's, even if they're glass filled...

But plastic spinners... that's a no no... For now you may be OK, because it is on a sport engine, but if you get yourself something that is trimmed for rpm you will get in trouble... You said it would have to break in order to fall off... well that's exactly what it will do if you spin it too fast! But it won't fall off, it will throw pieces all over the place, and there'd better be no one around when that happens...

Thanks,
It's a 46fx with Weston Genesis Pipe. I've left the gear fixed for now, may put retracts in later in the year!

Glad you like it,

Dave03B,

Love it! I'd like to do the same thing with my F-20, unfortunately it would be very hard to see where we fly.

How about a little info on the covering/painting.

Be careful running that 46FX with a full blown tune pipe.....that's how I blew one up. You'd be better off going with a higher performance motor. Warranties go right out the window when you alter from stock. Just a thought.

Thanks Gary for the warning about the pipe...... taken.

The covering is sprayed Solartex.

The engine has been bench run with pipe by previous owner. The pipe and engine is "as new" second hand.

I like the colour scheme of this plane!

Your hanger is a lot like mine.
The Patriot flew great, fast and true.Rough mid/range but that's ok,long as it smooths out at full throttle.

The D/C F-20 is being covered now.

Love that Viper. Was scared to fly it but once I saw it would fly it was ball. Flies on a rail.Much more managable than I thought it would be. I'm sure tempted to try this Jet 50 on it before it goes in the F-20,but with the TT 46 Pro,it's still plenty fast for me. I'll probably fall for the Speed Freak addict stuff and give it a try. I mentioned the Viper cause I think it's basically the same as the Predator and Dominator.

Good Luck and Hang On!!!

Default Razor/Air,and You other Guys

Did yall make your rudders usuable in the F-20?? I've read where some guys glue the fin and rudder together and not use them at all and I hardly ever use the rudder except to line up on the runway..Wondering if I would regret making it rigid or not. Don't want to mess up at this stage. Just wondering what yall did.
Thanx Walt

Now joey you know that is gona crash either way bro.... lol To everyone in this forum.... if you doubt my friend joey on the 300 mph plane listen up..... the two of us were nick-named the "Left Brothers" in elementary school... and has been tru to this day... between the two of us and the way we think.. we have had many of the ideas that you have sceen in the mag's , but just no way to make the accuall product take shape... so if joey says he's gona hit 300.. expect 350.. because he never leaves a challange... and if you tell him it "aint gona happen" its like adding nitro to a fire!!!!

Here is a picture of my new speed machine. A little primer and paint, and I'm in business.

Fully composite wing and tail, with fiberglassed skinned hinges. Fiberglass fuze, with internal surface control (except rudder). Semi cowled engine, leaving only the head and Venturi of the Nelson .40 sticking out.

Speaking of wood props, this will be turning one at about 24,000 rpms.

You should run at least a 11x7 on that OS 46 with the pipe! Cut the throttle on down wind listen for it to settle down turn base then final at about 1/4 throttle! You need the pitch for speed! Inch's matter run as many as the engine will pull. Do the Math. Multiply pitch X .000947 x RPM. Have Fun
