I just had to make a minor correction.....

Thanks P

In SUMMER we pull this cabin on to the lake, equipped with a wood burning stove. We bring the planes inside to take the chill off and they start up real easy even in sub zero temp.

In Milford we do get some snow. But I still use a snow removal service.

Skis and smoke system eehh... for the Sundowner, the trails will look real good on a blue winter sky.

I started with the LR-1 racer. It is made by Wildhare RC and in the picture below it is the small one with its two brothers in the background the Extra and Edge also made by them. It was quick but got really small as soon as you took off,
so I was looking for something bigger and that is when I got the Alley Cat, with the Jett 90LX the cat is quick and really tracks well, but I was still looking for something bigger that would be a begginer's entry to racing, without going full bore as far as budget was concerned.

To quote my buddy Rmenke fast = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

If you look at some of the GR-7, giant scale racing planes with the composite fuse and GT-80 engines they reach 250 mph
and also run for 10k.

Look at the Sundowner from Luvara racing and you will see what I mean.

The Hangar 9 is no where near this class but is a good way to get people interested into racing.

Should be real interesting to see all the different set-ups for this new plane for Hangar 9.

I for one, will be looking forward to it.

Hi Bob

Too bad Dubb does not make any engines large enough for this plane.

I would be interested.

I still have the Jett 90LX in the Alley Cat and the engine just gets better with time.

After a certain size, most modelers choose to go gasoline power. So the market for larger glow engines is just not there....

Although at Dub at one time was fooling around with a design for a 160/180 size. I wouldnt expect to see that.

I put my name on the first one that comes into my local hobby shop. I have a 26cc Birelli and a 40cc Brison sitting in need of a home. I see Brielli is making a 36cc engine now weighing in at 50oz including muffler and ignition. RTF Most give weight without muffler. I am going to do some research into an engine for this one. I want to get 120 - 130mph out of it. My shoestring flying with an OS 91 gets around 100mph. 2 summers ago had 123mph and 116mph running 20% in a slight dive by radar gun. Would like 120's flat speed on this one. That would be fast enough for me. Want it to fit mostly inder the cowl and can me Nitro or Gas.

Will see what others do...
can't wait....

My name is on the first on in our store also. Trying to decide on an engine (gas). Driving me nuts a bit but will be a 50cc area. Since i always mount the engine last. I'll have more time to decide. I guess when its time for the install, I'll just put my money where my mouth is and do it.

Hey Bob,

There's no doubt Dub's expertise is in glow motors, but has he ever considered venturing into gas motors? A 50cc gas JETT just has a nice "ring" to it, eh?

This ARF caught my eye last Sunday!
What a beautiful plane.
I have an OS 160FX and will be a good power setup!
Or even a BGX!

If I wasn't going to install a gas, the BGX would be 1st choice. I have one in a P-51. Nice engines

In Greece i think there are no importers, other than people who have rc shops and here and there supply 1-2-3-... ARF's from H9.
In Greece there are not many possibilities to find what you search for from H9,i mean ARF's!
The only good market here is in UK,where you find more ARF's, NOT ALL OF THEM!
And i don't know why...............
Kostas!

P.S. You know how to speak Greek?

I've been checking this plane out and have a Brillelli 40cc with the RTF weight of 51 oz, that includes the muffler. They show the Evolution 35GT2 installed in this plane with a custom in cowl muffler and that engine weighs 52.8 oz without the muffler. I currently have this engine in a QQ YAK 54 at 12.5 lbs and it's awsome. This should be a good match up for the Sundowner coming in at 12.0-14.0 lbs .

What do you guys think about a ZDZ 40 RV? I was thinking of either the ZDZ or the Evolution 35.

Mike McConville was flying this plane at Joe Nall and he recomended using the Evolution 26 on the plane for a perfect balance. The bigger engines require weight added to the back of the fuse and I'm not into that.

Wonder what I have to do to the 26gt to run alcohol[>:]

how does this plane compare to the speed of a Modeltech Mach Racer ? I have flown my Mach Racer at full throttle from a slight slope , and if I blinked it was gone. I am hoping this thing can slow down enough so regular flight patterns can be flown. I am planning on using the EVO 35gt. According to H9 , if using either the 26GT or the 35GT , no alterations to the cowl are needed. This saves on a lot of build time for me. I'm new to gas , and always thought when you gas set up you lose on max speed of an aircraft ?

Did they happen to mention when more will be going out. I ordered one yesterday from my LHS(he has 3 on order already so one is mine) When you go to the Horizon site is still says "back order and due out late June". Anxious to build(assemble) my first speedster[8D].
Happy flyin',
