Anyone have any prop/pipe/rpm specs OS Vf61 (fire)
I'm setting up a new VF61 ABC (fire) in my restored Phoenix 7 Ballistic Pattern Plane, I want it propped for speed but not too small of a prop to where vertical will suffer, I'm thinking around 10 X 8 to 10.5 X 7 APC, it will have a fusetop header and nitro pipe (unsilenced) in the fusetop, 15% fuel, I still need to break it in. Anybody have any idea of a target rpm ? pipe setting I'm thinking 33cm as a starting point on this engine for this prop range? I know my VF 40 and 46 engines like to rev so I'm assuming the VF61 is timed for hi revs allso, so I'm hoping to see near 16K rpm on the ground and still have substantial unloading in a dive, any input, test specs or ideas is much appeciated.

The OS61V was one of my favorites I even used it as my first ducted fan engine (byron Mig 15).
Compensator and Deception both had on the nose.
I flew them with 11x7 and 11x7.5 revup (wood). If I recall the pipes were set for around 13,000 rpm. 13.5" ??

Thank's Bob, that sounds good I'll try at 34cm / 13.5 and work my way from there, I'm going to try a 50 and 60 tuned pipe and see what it likes, hopefully get it up in hp range as soon as it starts to unload, did you run yours with or without the 7D carb restrictor?
