Mike
I test flew my New Delta on Sunday and while not fast as on a stand throttle pipe with the manifold way to long.
The plane flew very well and handles well great roll rate and smooth as can be in flight. Behaves better than most delta's with a small drop in high on tight turns.
Pics attached.
Will fit the full pipe and shorten the manifold for next time.

Mike
The engine is an old MVVS 40 Q500 engine, should be good for about 150 mph. Thatshow fast it pulled my MagnumR.

After a few tweeks have added a 50 size tuned pipe and found the engine now is a screamer.
Problem is rear tail feathers parted company will re engineer and make alot stronger.

Wow, you did well to get it down in one piece! The fins look a bit tall and narrow on the earlier pics. It might help make them stiffer and less flutter prone, if you make the new ones wider at the base and shorten them up correspondingly, to keep the same surface area. It would still look way cool.

I will reinforce tail section with 1/64 ply or sheet both sides with 1/16 balsa and shorten and lengthen as you suggest.
It was amamzing evnt after I lost part of the vert stabs the plane flew well no adverse roll or yaw.
I put this down to the sligth twist in the wingtips with the LE slightly lower than the TE and the size of the vert stabs.

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread
Once you get up to speed the vertical area isn't a big deal, but the extra area is real handy for clean launches and landings. Lucky that it torn all the way off instead of leaving you with a big skewed piece giving you extra unwanted ruddervator. I had a battery hatch door pop open on a DD at speed and it did make the plane go nuts until the door tore away completely. It's become routine for me now to glass both sides of the balsa fins with hardware store weight cloth.
I'll bet your plane cuts a pretty mean looking sillouette in the sky, have fun with it.

Finally repaired the wing.
1/64 ply sheet on outside of each fin, shortened by 1" and capped with 1/16 ply fin-let and topped off 1/16 fin-let.
Here are a few pics.
She flew well in 30 mph winds this weekend.

yer wassup Denny, amazing how quickly the bin fills with modeling waste! To bad you got rain there. It can't rain forever sun soon i hope.
Had a great weekend with a saito82 in my spitfire, nice sound.
I'm just putting together a mini tiger shark delta, 29" wingspan with a hot weston/webra 36V1. Should get 22500 on the 8x6.
It's small allready but going to get even smaller airborne.
heres my pink sunburst and part complete model so far

Hey Chumley, Your not related to that "Chumley" on Pawn Stars on the history channel, are you?
I sold Mike D. this business some time back and I hate to see it in this state. He should modify the web site. I wish I had a kit to send you but I do not as it has been some time. I do have two almost new and built air frames I would part with but it would have to be a pick up. What a pain to ship even a small air frame if you are not set up to do so. I would think there would be a kit somewhere that someone would part with. Good luck.
