While I do own a Rossi .53, I've never run that small a prop on it. My understanding is that QM40s routinely turn 23,000+ rpm and I'm certain that even if the Rossi held up at these speeds, it was not designed for them. You might find good performance in the 18 to 19 thousand range but probably not in the 20,000+ range.

I which I had hard data for you.

Rossi's do scream however the port timing is not set up to run in the mid 20k in rpm. It would spin the q40 ok but its timing might hold it back to about 21k or so.

If its timing were changed, then it would probably run just fine in the upper rpms, at the cost of a reliable idle...possibly.

Hi! I am wondering if the Rossi .53 could be run with QM .40 props..
The Rossi 53 is timed for torque, not rpm. A 9x10 or 10x8 prop would work well with that engine. I would think the QM prop would be horrible with this engine but maybe the light load would let it hit a higher harmonic tuning level and let it spin. Let us know what happens.
