Fastest RC Airplane Worldwide
Hi all,
on last Sunday we had the worlds fastest rc airplane on my airfield here overseas in germany.
it is a delta build jet Ok "not prop driven" i know .
but i have to tell you about that unbelievable speed .
the size is around 40 wide by 60 in length and 2 inches at the highest cord with an 18 to 20 pound turbine.
our Airfield is around 1000 feet and it took 1,8 to 2 seconds to get the whole distance
that must be around 330 Miles per hour and more.
its like a RC missile and the speed was unbelievable and guys ... i have sean a lot of 235 miles per hour speed planes at the german speed cups in the last years and this beast was 50 % faster.
this plane was so fast out of sight , this guy must have eagle eyes to get it back they call him MR.Perfect.
right now i dont know a speed measure device for that speed, maybe he will make a show pass at the german speed cup
if i get a pic or a vid i will post

hasn't he clocked 365mph now. AND with no bloody engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rumor has it some RC turbines have broken 400mph but I have personally never seen any concrete proof of it. The good thing about the DS community is documentation of events. Everyone talks about these 400+mph turbines in south america and europe but I have never seen any video of 400mph+. The planes they talk about are very small deltas so their speed is easily deciving when we are used to seeing bigger turbines in the 200mph range. When you watch spencers 2.5 meter kinetic at 360mph it looks slow compared to a 1.5 meter glider DS'ng high 200's. When you are talking about these very high speeds it becomes difficult to make accurate distance time calculations manually since there are big paralax errors and human reaction time errors. Best way to know for sure is onboard GPS, ground Radar, or pitot air speed (if it is setup right).

That delta is impressive. Hard to tell how fast it is tho as the airplane is quite small and thus will look VERY fast on video even just in the mid/low 200's.
