Default Dago Red Mustang and a Jett 60 RE

Ok gents, gots a couple questions.

Sitting here in Baghdad talking to my buddy back stateside about shoe horning a Jett 60 rear exhaust into the Dago Red Mustang from World Models.

Anyone done this or have some constructive input? I'm thinking the tuned pipe might even fit inside like on the Sundowner.

discuss:

I don't think you're gonna get a pipe anywhere inside the fuse...at least not without serious re-arranging of practically everything inside...not practical.

I have one, w/ a Webra .50 and Ultra Thrust muffler...nicely balanced combo and surprisingly fast for that size engine.

If you want to use a rear exh. engine, you're most likely going to have to get or make a custom header, and put the pipe down the C/L of the belly. The header will need a substantial drop.

I could eyeball mine and give ya a WAG if you want? (very ) rough header measurements, just out of curiosity...

Hi,

A Mustang is not exactly the cleanest airframe is it?

Ive not seen one with an internal pipe, but its probably possible.

Photos here are a SJ-60L side exhaust with pipe.

If you side mounted the engine, with a riser header you might get the pipe down the side of the fuselage.

On my P-51, I run the SJ-46 and turbo-jett muffler. A few others have run this setup on various mustangs with both SJ-50 and SJ-90L engines.
