Default Little tony unstable in flight ?

I have a GP Little Tony with a 110 ys engine. I took it up today and almost lost it, it was all over the place very unstable any little input on the controls seemed really exaggerated especially the elevator.

Almost impossible to hold level comming in for a landing. Any ideas what might be wrong here!!

could be any number of things. have someone else look it over. cg, out of trim, etc... the tony is a very smooth plane and you have one of the best engines for this plane. also this is not a begginers plane

Yep, there are all kinds of possibilities. Assuming that the pilot has built the plane with the correct CG and amount of control surface movement, you gotta think that the problem could be caused by any part of the electronics. Even the switch.

If the plane is too heavy, then no amount of troubleshooting will do any good.

After double checking CG, straightness, allignments, deflections, control stiffness, basically anything airframe related.....then I would replace the control equipment, including your TX.

This is a very nice and proven combo, hopefully you correct the problem before trying to fly it again.

How much expo are you running? If you are using expo, is it the right way, positive or negative? Different brand radios may have opposite shifts.

Thanks for all the ideas guys, combatpigg you mentioned control stiffness. I have futaba digital servos in it 3152's, I did notice that the elevator was slugish compared to the other surfaces would this make the plane erratic? I just thought it may be slower to respond but it's acting the opposite.

The other thing I wondered is I have it over propped I think I have a apc 15x10 on it, I am able to get it to turn at just under 8000rpm's but I would like to be at 10,000+/-.

I have a Shoestring, 300s and a Midget Mustang and have no problem flying these planes so I don't think the Littlte T should be causung me any grief.

I will double check everything again and if I can't find anything I'll get another pilot to check it over.

If I don't find the problem and fly it again chances are it won't be in the hanger anymore.

The APC 13x11 will turn right around 10k on 20% on the 110.

Tough one here, I have the same setup. Flies great after I made a engine thrust adjustment (2 degree's down.

Try a 14x10, 14x11, 13x13, 13x12

Yup sounds tail heavy, this plane is suppose to have very smooth flight characteristics.

From what i have always read, Sensitive controls, and overly sensitive elevator, means tail heavy, and all of the place

It's funny to see this. I maidened my Little Toni this past weekend. Had the same problems you did.
I know mine was tail heavy, I added weight to the front, but not enough.
Will re-balance mine before I take it up again.
It just barely made it down in one piece![X(]

check hinges and pushrods for binding and or bending may cause a jump in the movement.

EXPO ??? futaba you want (-) negative % to soften the center watch the curve on the screen
JR you want (+) positive % ( as I recall from my 8103)

Hi
I have a Little Toni fitted with a asp 1.08 I now have a dozen or so flights on it and it flys just fine, not the fastest thing in the air though, although as the engine frees up it has shown the odd bit of potentual!! My cg is set to factory specs
