Default 250 on the magnum

Ha, not mph but flights. Clocked up this massive total after 3 years flying the sh.t out of her. Few engine rebuilds(switching to better sythn helped on 50v1), a few gallons munched through, a few props broken,a few plugs eaten, full throttle to dead stick every flight.

Only comment is I replaced the hinges after 200 flights as they started to split.

I re-enforced the front sides during building days by cutting bottom away to glass inside sides where fuel tank sits then glassed the bottom which has helped a lot for landings. Also beefed up the wood around the captive wing nut and installed nylon wing dowles.

Got to love this model. The more confident I get the more I push her harder and lower, very low, inches off the deck. Its got to end in tears some day!!

A record?

I don't know about that engine. But I hear the word 'Jet' mentioned many times in very positive light in this forum for speed planes and can only imagine that it will be awesome when dialed in on a juicy tuned pipe.

A tip is to remove the chequered film underneath and use a neon fluro colour for easy contrast identification. I kind of like the black fake carbon covering on top for siloette identification and fluro underneath.

A 2nd good tip, is to use a 2 part fuel proofer on all all the edges of film to stop it lifting in high speed flight. You only need to do this once and your film will stay on.

Yeah I thought it would be a good engine for it, its in my Juno f-20 right now, but the f-20 airframe is too slow, almost a waste of an engine.LOL

It is CP.Cheers

Ailerons Hs 625mg- Hi tech
Elevator Hs 645mg-Hi tech
Throttle futaba 148
Fuel is Model technics Propower 16% nitro, EDL oil Fully synthetic 18%
All stock linkages.
8x8 apc
West 50 v1( discontinued now)
Westonuk pp7 plugs (cold)
Genises tuned pipe
JR 7 channel 35mhz (chystal type). Only this model and a few slope soarers I've kept on 35mhz, others are 2.4ghz. It aint broke dont fix it, so kept her on 35mhz.
JR 9x2 transmitter (9303) 35mhz
2100 mah nimh
My needle is few click from being completley closed now. I dont understand that. I question the tapper on the HS needle.
However needle is new dual 'o' ring type.

Engine is fixed to plastic engine mount by hex head type self taping screws, not bolts and nuts.

I think a 10oz tank also, i added.
Flight time is appx 5mins to dead stick

I find you can drop her from MASSIVE height vertically down for about 4 drops. If you keep doing it, you will starve the engine from fuel as the clunk will be in air.

Nice I have like 15 flights on mine. I used a HS-225 on the ailerons to save a couple ounces around the c.g.
