Prop question

I am in the process of putting together what is hopefully going to be something fast for my squadron. I bought a Rossi 53 to go in a old kit built Patriot. Some of the older, and hopefully wiser, guys in my club have told me to stick with "square number" props. I.E: 9x9 or 10x10 etc. Do you guys agree? And if so what do you think would be a start for the Rossi 53? I am also interested in getting the engine gone through and maybe ported a little . If any-one knows someone in the Eastern N.C. area it would be great. The Rossi came with 2 tuned silencers and 2 carbs. The carbs are different sized bore and the silencers are different as well, both appear to be tuned silencers.

RE: Prop question

I beleive that a 10x10 would overload the engine.
It does like a 10x7 and 10x8.
9x9 would be good if it will pull the plane around.

RE: Prop question

I agree with 9x9 if it can get off the ground without being too squirrly.:)
