RE: how can you prove it woos?
If I am understanding what you are saying you should do a search in this forum for "doppler speed"...

RE: how can you prove it woos?
get it from my site
www.philsrcworld.fsnet.co.uk then be prepared to go red faced as you tell your mates how fast your trainer really goes |
RE: how can you prove it woos?
Dan;
There are 4 good ways. 1, Two men, two stopwatches, and a long measuring tape. (works ok). 2, Doppler method using an audio recording device of some type. (works good when operated correctly) 3, GPS attached to the aircraft. Garmin Geko-201 works super and it's safe and light. 4, Stalker sports radar gun. Its super but not as safe as the others cause your looking down the nose of a 200 MPH plane to get accurate speeds. All methods have been talked about at length on this forum..... Syd Clement |

phillybaby,
I used the speed program and I get this for speeds with my 15 LA powered Shrike...Almost 100 mph! I need more speed. |
RE: how can you prove it woos?
You have two choices... get another plane... or get another program... I suggest you do the first...

RE: how can you prove it woos?
your getting the right rpm which should give you the right speed, but which line do you use? i find the second one up is the right one.
100 sounds quick, but i know my 21 shrike could do that, a 15la however?? sommit sounds wrong |
RE: how can you prove it woos?
I also agree that 100 sounds way to quick for what the model is doing. I may try again tommorow to measure some sound. I put in the value of 10 in there like I read somewhere and that adds to the speed so maybe I shouldn't be putting that in the third column. I also think that the second curve from the bottom is the primary frequency because the engine rpms seem to be about what they should be, 16,000 rpm.

RE: how can you prove it woos?
I've found the best way to estimate speed is....
....watch the plane fly, and make a wild guess. [X(] This has been proven to be about as accurate as other methods. :eek: |
