normally you blue a plug when the engine is lean

All of the Rossi plugs I've used for the past 25 year have been black. Im not sure what that one is.

That seal simply failed. Might have been lean, most likely it was just a bad seal.

Merlin Hot, K&B-HP, Fireball, Rossi R4, NovaRossi 4 - only things I will use for a speed application.

Of note, if it did get hot, be sure to check the head bolts - make sure they are secure.
