I just bought one NIB at a swap meat last week for $100.00. I am either going to run a Tower .75 or a Magnum .91xls.:D

If you are thinking about putting the Saito 100 in the MM it would be fine, but if you went one step higher and used the new Saito 1.25
you will have a awesome combo.

I did the same thing Cyclic did and install the gear on the wing by re-enforcing the underside with some ply. I used the landing gear from a funtana 90, because not only was it the right size, but the color matched exactly as well.

Here are some pictures of mine.

The plane flies very fast and the engine has this great low throaty sound that makes everyone at the field wish they had one.

This is hands down one of my favorite planes.

Thanks Airnondas looks really well ! Already ordered the saito 100 so i might as well give it a shot with it.Do you mind measuring the height, leg and top width of the gear please so i can get a carbon copy of it.dont trust this standard gear so im going to change it before i maiden the beast.

Thanks Cyclic, I really liked the modifications you did to your MM including the color scheme and that is what inspired me to put one together.

Hi Oscar, the landing gear measurements are 6.5 inches for the leg and 5.5 inches wide at the top.

Here is the link to were I ordered the landing gear from Hangar 9

Good luck and keep us posted of your progress.

So before i have ago at this and cock it up,you two have both just cut a setion out of the wing in line with the origanal gear, and replace it with ply? Then attached the new gear to this?

When I was rebuilding mine a couple years ago, I was watching "Amercian Chopper" and they were building the Snap On tools bike. So Thats how I came up with that.

Definitely, I do it on every arf I have. I mix up some epoxy and fiberglass powder and slop it all around the inside corners and the outside. FYI there is already right thrust built into the firewall. Stand over the top and look down and you can see the angle

Would this be a good first speed plane for me, I want something I can throw my servos in and buy a larger but hopefully cheep motor in there.

Just ordered the short "ULTRA THRUST" for my Magnum .91(CLONE OF OS .91FX). They claim 13,500 with a 12-8 on the OS. Magnum sdhould do that or better. It is a abc engine.:D

Up date. The Mustang still is not started. I allmost sold it to a buddy, but after reading all the threads just can't bear to part with it. As soon as I am finished with my YS 1.40 powered Yak 54 and my YS 1.10s powered Funtana X100, I am going to build it. I also have a NIB YS 1.10 waiting for it. I will keep this thread informed when I build it. The only thing I do not like is the White and blue color sceme.

I also use Kavan Wheels. They are a hard plastic whichallow the plane to slide sideways instead of the bad wheel bounce you can get from rubber wheels. This can rip the gear clean off. I've aborted takeoffs nearly full throttle and slid sideways like a slide into second base and no problem. You do that with any other wheel and you can kiss your plane goodbye
