What would an old Northrop KD2R5 target drone be worth?

Our military is selling a bunch these one of these days...

This thing should reach over 220 miles/hour...

This is what I'm talking about:KD2R5 Drone

(only one problem...this thing is too heavy...it will not fall under RC models legislation...)

I would try to get my hands on this thing for the engine alone...:D:D:D

and with a weight of 400 lbs that would put you over the FAR part 103 for ultralights. now you would need an N-number.

Yeah, i know it's cool... I would really, really, really (did I mention really?) like to get my hands on a 100 ci 90 hp 4 cilinder boxer airplane engine... even if it is 30 years old... Even if I can't use it for a plane...it would still make a great airboat...:D

Our military is selling 19 of these things...including a whole bunch of parts... Them things can't have a lot of hours on them, or else they would have been shot down...The catch is that you have to buy the whole lot at once...you can't bid for 1 plane or something... It's all or nothing...

That's why I have to have an idea about the retail price of one of these babies!
If I have a chance to get the lot, I would have to unload a lot of stuff that basically nobody wants... Do you get the picture?

Those planes are basically useless to me (although the look pretty neat on your average model field...). They are just plain too heavy. You need a ramp (or them tail rockets) to launch them. They are made out of metal to light up on a radar screen like a christmas tree... Maybe some are fit to go into a museum somewhere, but on the other hand, thousands of these things have been built in different versions, so I guess every "air-minded" museum already has one...

But if I could unload the most these planes on E-BAY or something, to get my investment back, and be left with a bunch of parts and engines to tinker around with...I would be happy...very happy...

N-number, N-number...I don't need an N-number, i don't live in the USA...

However, you are right...I would need some special permit to fly one of these, as their weight exceeds 25 kilograms (the max permitted model airplane weight in our country).

OTOH these guys fly a 440 pound B-29 bomber...
So if they can get a permit...so can I... I think...
