ElectroDust

With the lack of a new plane and the economy I decided to build a new plane from scratch. Based on a Diamond Dust, it's scaled down (to a 24" span) and has a Mega 16/15 in it. I have a 16/15/4 in it building it but have a spare 16/15/2 and 16/15/3 too. All up 1lb even, should be fun...

RE: ElectroDust
That looks awesome, Evan! It does look just like the full scale Dust in those shots.

For those that don't know electrics, a Mega 16/15/2 in a small pylon plane does 160+.... This won't be quite that fast as the DD wasn't the sleekest airframe.
A small pylon, disapears fast at 160. A .061 powered minidust and the original DD,,, |
RE: ElectroDust
Evan - would you tell us a bit about the scaling down? Did you draw new plans?
Tnx - Lee |
RE: ElectroDust
I had smaller plans for the .061 that I did at Kinkos. Just hit what % you want and it copies them. I took those and enlarged them on my home copier, taping together about 6 sheets. Since the ribs are on the plans I used them to cut them out. The DD is an easy build having four ribs... I used carbon arrow shafts for the frame work.

For the naysayers out there Evan posted 159.2 with his Sprint at the last Carolina Speed Rally.
I look forward to seeing the Electro Dust this year buddy![8D] |
