I am looking for suggestions on a good "speed" engine and pipe for under/around $200 and looking back through the forums it looks like the Rossi/Morris .45 is supposed to be pretty good for $150. While looking at that engine I saw the MVVS Q500 for $170 ( http://morrishobbies.com/product_inf...products_id=98 ) and it looks good too. I also read that the Webras are supposed to pretty good.
I would also like to find info about modifying engines. Thanks for any info, Joel |

What kinda plane you gonna be flyin'? If it is for sport flying/speed I would go:
YS-45 Rossi (Powerhouse)-45/53 MVVS-49 Webra-50 OS-50SX Jett-50 $$ If you want all out speed: MVVS is the cheapest way to go unless you want to modify a Ducted Fan motor like the K&B 7.5- Keep us posted! james |

JoelD,
All the options put forth by Razor are good ones, especially the K&B 7.5 DF, it wins on a speed/$ basis. See my post on thread http://www.rcuniverse.com/showthread...51&forumid=162] |

its going on what I guess you could call a homemade whiplash....all I have to go by is wingspan and a couple pictures but I figured out enough to make a prototype and I'm gonna try make the mold tomorrow. All I have to put on it now is an old tower 40 (ported (beveled outside of sleeve) with good results without knowing much about what I was doing) or a 46FX and was just looking for something that was made to go fast. I think I will try to get it built and try it with my old .40 first....that way I can think about the engines suggested and decide.
Thanks, Joel |

Have you Clarence Lee's review of the MVVS Q500? He writes:
Our testing verified this, as excluding the Nelson and Jett engines, the MVVS Quickie 500 engine is the strongest running .40 displacement size engine we have tested to date... |
o
For a delta go with the MVVS-40.... Since RPM's are on the menu!
Whatever Clarence Lee says is the law- ;) |

Thanks for the replies.....I was kinda leaning toward the MVVS. I started on the mold but didn't get to finish and probably won't for a couple days but if I ever get it done and a plane built, I'll tell yall about it.
Thanks, Joel |
