Default Futaba 4vf

I just purchased a hobbico superstar select and it comes with a 4vf. The tx has an 8 pack Nicd pack hard wired into it. I want to use this tx with FMS and don't always want to use the Nicd. The seems like it can accept regular AA batteries. How do I disconnect the Nicd pack? I took off the back and it is attached to the electronics of the tx. I am not sure if this can be detached or not.

Sorry, ultimate beginner!

You can disconnect it by taking the case completely apart... But why would you want to? NiCds are so far superior to anything "standard" cell you could put in (alkalines etc). It's not that hard to pop it on the charger the night before you fly...
