PDF's and Printing
Hey All,
With the multitude of plans in pdf format floating around does anyone know of a service like "Kinko's" that could print a full-sheet pdf?
Printing the tiled plans are easy enough but theres just nothing like having a printed full sized plan.
Thanks
Mike

RE: PDF's and Printing
Any of the popular printing agencies or blueprint houses can simply switch off the deskjet printer, and click on the plotter as the target device. It is simply a matter of not using the default printer. All of the Adobe formats enable the printing, no matter the size, up to 124 inches long though.
Only problem is that PDF is not a very good graphics printing system when in large scale. It gets a bit choppy at the edges.

If memory serves, Kinko's has a proprietary software format they prefer you to use, especially when tiling.
I got a disk from the local outlet some years ago, but it turned out to be a ball of snakes to use.
The .pdfs I've printed come out at 96% real size, BTW.
OK if you're not too excited about exactness.
DXF format stuff I take to a blueprint shop which reads the disk directly.
