Hi all,
Im not sure this is the correct forum branch, but ill try anyway.
When I try to start Realflight G2, First it start with "The joystyick driver will now be automatically installed". When that supposedly finnishes, it caughs up an error stating:
Error: DIERR_UNPLUGGED
File: L:\kelib2\DirectX\DXDirectInput.cpp
Line: 309
Ive got my joystick plugged in and ready.
It did work once, a while ago.. Even the music of the sim allready plays, during this error... [:@]
Does someone know whats going on here?[

I don't know about your problem, but there is a simulator forum, maybe you should try there.
Good luck.

Go to control panel and check for the latest updates.
If I remember a couple of years ago, I got a similar error and it turned out to be a graphics
error on my graphics card.
Updating cured the problem.
If not call Mary at Realflight help. She's GOOD.

Im running the newest detonators for my nvidia ti4600. So I guess outdated drivers are out of the question.
Im not planning on spending money on a intercontinental phone call, so I guess my line ends here, unless someone comes up with a solution. [

I'm guessing that your probably running under windows XP.
That version doesn't work, you need at least version 2.00.594
Now you MIGHT be able to run it by telling XP that you want to run it under Win 98.
Right click on the icon in desktop.
select properties.
select compatibility mode.
That about all that I can help you with.
Otherwise the long distance call.

In compatability mode it doesnt seem to bother with the error anymore, but now it squacks about the joystick not working, and advicing me to do something in the programs menu. But when I click OK, it just bogs out.. Im seriously considdering aerofly pro....

Go to:
Start - Control Panel - Joystick
Select the proper joystick (or Controller) and then calibrate it in here first.
Then go back to G2 and select and calibrate it in G2.
What happens now.

It sure is! Well.. The software.. The price is insanely nuts.. What are those people who make this stuff thinking? That theire simulator is something incredibly complex? Its just a porked up game engine for crying out loud..
Ive bought this G2 piece of crap offa Ebay with a smashed up controller (The goof jammed it up the pivot side of a door, and slammed it shut, somehow[&:]) for a dollar and a dime anyway. No huge expences lost. I'll see if aerofly is any better. Does it come with a stoneage gameport controller aswell?

From Windows:
Start - Control Panel - Joystick
Select the proper joystick (or Controller) and then calibrate it in here first.
Then go back and see if G2 will now start
Then select and calibrate in G2 (if it starts)
You neglected to mention that your controller was smashed and chances are nothing
will make it work.

Wasnt it reflex and aerofly wich use dongle things? Isnt it perty useless for a sim to have regular joystick support, if there must be a controller with built in dongle present?
