Default Mapping switches with RF controller?

I know that you can use the realflgiht controller with AFPD and I am, but all of the switches do not map properly. I went into the setup and changed what I could, but some of the switches, (like the one used for dual rates, and the three mode switch are not recognized?

When I check the controller in XP, everything works and is visable

Any thoughts?

I have the G2 interlink controller, and can map 3 switches, and the knob. But like you mentioned the switch on the left will only map as 1 button. It actually activates button 4 on, both off, or button 5 on. Button 5 seems unavailable in AFP(D)

Has anyone figured out how to get this working?

Do you have realflight installed on your computer? I think it installs a "Realflight Controller" as a game controller. I do not have RF installed right now. I was hoping to keep it off my computer for the time being, but I will install it tonight to see if it makes any difference.

Yes I do. It is labeled as an interlink controller in windows. You should just need to find the interlink joystick drivers on the G2/3 disk. There is a good chance they are in a separate folder and installable separately. But that is just a guess.

It shows up as 5 analog axis, and 5 buttons. But nothing activates button 4, and the button 5 I can't map in AFP(D)

I've sent mail to Dion with no replay asking if AFPD supports switch 5? Do you know if it does or not?

I installed Reaflight on my computer and there was no difference in what was available from the game controllers dialog.

I don't know, I finally sold my G2 not too long ago and I never used it for AFP.

Go into calibrate and see if you can get the switch to make the red bars jump.

I have not been able to. In the AFPD calibration it only lists 12 channels allowing 4 axis, 4 sliders, and 4 buttons but the G2 controller has the buttons mapped as 1, 2, 4 and 5 in windows. I'm guessing AFPD would have to allow for more buttons. Perhaps there is a way to set the joystick buttons differently in the windows joystick driver?

There are so many peole using the G2 controler for AFP I know it must work as I have never seen this post before.

Go into windows control panel under joysticks and see if you can get it to work there under calibrate.

You misunderstand, the controller works. AFPD is just missing 1 switch (for me anyhow) AFPD calabration only lists switches 1-4, but the G2 controller joystick driver lists 5 so the 5th one can't be accessed by AFPD. There is just no option in the calabration screen to use the 5th switch.

Not a big issue, just annoying.

Actually the G2 controller maps the knob and 3 switches. The left shoulder switch is on-off-on (button3 on, both off, button5 on) as I recall. So the one position of the switch can't be mapped (button5). By the way, for anyone that can't seem to get button1 to work. Keep in mind that that switch works as a toggle. So up then down will push the button on. Then up and down again to turn it off again.

I hope I'm making sense to everyone, and not just typing gibberish

I am sill little confused

Knob-works as a regular knob just like G2.
Switch below the knob-works like a regular switch just like G2.
Switch above the 3 way switch(dual rates)-works as a regular switch just like G2.
3 way switch-only works as one switch. (which i am totaly fine with that)
Never could figure out how to get it to work as 3 switches on realflight anyways and never really need to use all 3 postions.

If it would work like that on AFPD I would be total cool with that

Ok, perhaps I'm finally getting smart... http://www.modelflight.com.au/pics/rf_tx.jpg The circled #1 switch is a 3 way, and will only function as a normal on/off in AFPD Otherwise it all functions as well as in Realflight. I noticed it mentioned that G3 controller has a red button added as well, I do not know if that will work in AFPD or not.
