umm... add about another 4 pounds to that guess.... the average for an 8th scale buggy has gotta be around the 8 pound mark...

Actually, on the first page of this thread I give the weight (in grams) for a few popular buggies. The Hyper 7 weighs 3500 grams (without engine, pipe, electronics or fuel).

So, 1 oz = 28.35 grams. So converting grams to ounces would give 3500/28.25 = 123.89 ounces. Converting that to pounds would yield: 123.89/16 = 7.74 pounds or roughly 7 pounds and 11.8 ounces. Keep in mind, that is the rolling chassis weight with no running gear. So 3.5 pounds isn't even in the ballpark. That would be more like the weight for a 1/10th scale 2wd electric buggy.

I wouldn't go selling my car based on manufacturer claim besides, if you get a light set of servos, a light engine and a light pipe you could easily compensate for the extra weight.
+ if you run on bumpy tracks a heavier car will let you get away with so so suspension settings but ultimately, lighter is better and we should wait for an independant test to judge wich car is the lightest.

Excellent car Clone!
