OS 160FX
I'm running a 160FX in a Great Planes 27% CAP 232 with the Pitts style muffler. I've blocked off one of the pipes on the muffler to get adequate back pressure to the motor and am running Powermaster 20/20 fuel with an APC 18x6W prop. Do you think an 18x8W would be too much prop for this engine? The plane hovers at about 3/4 throttle now but won't pull out with the authority I'd like it to. Tower lists the engine as going up to an 18x12.

RE: OS 160FX
I am using OS FX 1.60 on my Sukhoi SU-26 with APC- 18 x 6 W , The plane weight is around 13 Lbs and I do all sort of 3D patterns , it hoovers nicely and pulls right up with
a lot of authority to an unlimited climb. I use streight fuel 80+20 no nitro.

RE: OS 160FX
The CAP weighs in at just over 11.5 pounds and the engine will pull it out of a hover but, not with as much authority as I would like it to if I'm going to go to ground level with it. I had Kyle Woyshnis fly it for me, he's a club member, and it was very impressive but all at high altitudes. I would like a little more power to bring it down to the runway. Check it out. Maybe 30% heli fuel would be better. Don't get me wrong, this is a great engine!!
