the blade cx is a coxail rotor heli, which is very stable. with the blade cx, it'll be a blast to fly and learn on but it's just that, it'll help you learn orientations maybe but will never prepare you for the actual collective pitch helis. the blade cx is mostly indoors cause it'll have to be DEAD CALM outside for you to take it out. it's very durable and costs are low. but... i consider it a toy adn it's nothing like the bigger birds you'll later want. (even though all i have is a blade cp) (well, wat do you expect? i'm only 14)

the blade cp is very challenging to learn on indeed adn the learnign curve will be very steep, many has fail to learn it and gave up before they do. however, many had learnt on a blade cp including myself adn it is a blast to fly it. if you take it slow, then you can learn it without crashing, but crashing is not a question of if, but rather when. be prepare to throw out 2x the amount of the heli on parts/blades etc. a blade cp will zip around alot faster than a blade cx and is 100x more unforgiving. it is very unstable but once you've learnt on a blade cp, you'll have no problem flying the bigger birds. the accomplishment you feel after your first controled hover is like nothign else. and you can fly it indoors and out (indoors in a big area), and will get you through some of the mild 3d and aerobatics if you haven't got a bigger bird by then. i've progressed to fff and i've tried a stall turn already.

but with all that being said, it's good to look at online lessons such as http://www.dream-models.com/eco/flying-index.html, http://www.helifever.com/articles/26...ght/Page1.html, (read through all lessons), http://www.littlerotors.com/flyinglessons/.

with all that being said, i have never regret to get a blade cp as my first heli. but if $$$$ is not an issue than you might consider getting both (i know quite alot of ppl who has). however, if you started with a blade cx, you'll very soon outgrow it and you'll be hungry for a better chopper.

with a blade cp it'll be awhile before your skills outgrow it's ability, but it will happen, and you'll still want to get a better chopper such as a t rex. however, you dont want to get a t rex/any higher end helis as your first chopper because teh repair cost will be alot higher.
