Hey Guys for those of you that are looking to get into R/C flying and live close to NC we at Rams RC club will be hosting a swap meet in MAy this is a great way to get a cheap plane for a begginer we all know is not fun when you spend hundreads of dollas on a plane then with one mistake the plane just became firewood.... this is how i started i got my 1st trainer for $10.00 and with everything RTF i probably spend way less than $100.00 and ive had it for 3 yrs already......this is the information .

Medevack1, I live in NC just outside of Charlotte, if memory serves me correctly its about 45 Min to Winston Salem from here, havent been out that way in a very long time. If I happen to be off work that day, Ill drop by and hopefully I can meet some of the people from your club.

This is exactly the type of message I was trying to get across to the new guys in my !st Gasser $0 Budget thread. Besides the kind of horsetrading & swapping I did to get my 27%er, these club swap-meets are an excellent avenue for getting your hands on a flyable glow Trainer for very little money. Usually you can pick up something worth flying to learn on for far less than alot of these "Toy planes" you see so many Hobby Shops flooded with these days targeting the beginner that doesn't really know any better & is 9 out of 10 times disapointed with & frustrated with his or her purchase in no time. There's a reason they carry so many replacement foam wings for those things! I love club swap-meets. Around here they are so popular we're out there in the driving rain with the hawk biting bitter cold sometimes just to get a good deal![sm=drowning.gif]

well guys we had an awsome turn out all the tables were full i my self got me a nice F-20 Tigershark for 40.00 with everything but the engine the guy even gave me a nice aluminum cone....lol i also got a NEW speedy bee NIB and of course it was a hell of a deal.
