not to worry-no big boat right now[&o]. when i did have them, they weren't stock. boysen reeds, low water pickup nose cone, rejetted 175 hp carbs (on a 150 merc), 10 degree spark advance module, light flywheel, 24" merc chopper cut, cupped and pitched to 25.5". on a 870 lb. hydrasports x-270-about 74 on radar-fully loaded. yeah, 2 strokes like winter much better than 4 strokes.

Oh ya there will be pics when I finish it. I am going to do a sample chip first. To make sure everything works properly. The gold leaf is new to me along with the pinstriping. Want to make sure the clear I put over doesnt react with the lettering enamel. I think if you use the hardener it will be ok. I have to place a couple more small orders to finish getting the stuff when I get some more cash.

heres a quick sample chip I put together to see what the gold and red would look like. I think Im going to do another sample using foto/frisket low tack mask. im going to need to pick up some more supplies before I do because I believe after I cut the lettering out then airbrush the size(glue for goldleaf) and add the gold I will need to lock the gold down with clear so the gold dont get peeled back up.Then make another mask to airbrush the red then clear everything down.

Well I gold leafed the sides and cleared all the leaf. The darn scratch is still in the L though it might hide once cleared but the gold does weird stuff some looks dull some looks shiney. Put it on with too much humidity and the size wasn't dry enough. But like I say It is what it is.

Yup Im hoping by the time I go back down I have no fog I have the heat on in the garage to help. Then Im going to pinstripe the lettering and a pencil line MIke had to mention and a couple lines here and there. And then blast it with some more clear to lock everything down

sweet what you putting them in. offshore or crackerbox. I somehow missed your last post up on my other thread it must of come in right when srw 1960 did. I just was checking my boat out it looks like glass other than a few specks of dust. The size needed to dry longer the gold sucked it up and isn't as shiny as it should be. BUt it is what it is not turning back now. Tomorrow hope I feel good might try to pinstripe the leaf. Sucks you lost alot of your stuff. Thats what worries me I have this old dinasaur puter and its funny it never has crashed where Ive lost anything. Heck I dont even know how to back it up.

Shoot that boats been sold long ago, but was a PI cracker box I rebuilt (gas) the drivers came from mastons RC unpainted. Actually that cracker box wasnt the fastest boat ive ever owned but it was one fun boat to drive!

you know you could let that clear set-up and wet sand with fine paper and shoot a final coat over it, should come out all like glass doing that. Then again the more times you spray something the more chance of a screw-up lol

Ya I plan on wet sanding some more and running a few stripes of red and finishing the letters. I have to run a stripe down the middle where you noticed the pencil line for sure then if you look close there is a bit of pencil right where the deck rounds at the front when I was laying it out I missed them spots when sanding stripes will hide um though Then I will attempt to make it look like glass with some depth. The weight wont hurt it a bit probably help me keep it on the water. Its been getting faster and faster as she breaks in. Im about to run the 50% through it. The day of our airport open house me and a buddie went and ran boats didnt relize that the park was full of people watching the planes come off the end of the run way over the lake. I had a croud of spectators watching me run it. They were shocked at the speed. After seeing my Deep V 60 run I finally ran it and it blew there minds. More pics

VPower, you'll be better served by starting a seperate thread for your question, so it'll catch the attention of those familiar with your make/model/size engine.... just a suggestion.
