Check this site www.toys-cn.com I am nothing aganist mato, but this bought to my attention...
once you,ve clicked the hl/meto or metopro metal upgrade department and click the picture of the tank/product and check for its weight.
It made me laugh, when I saw that all the rc tank weights around 17.8 kgs, so as the metal track 20 kgs...what a doggy strategy to promote or fool people. More meat more quality heeeeah
I knew that tiger tank does not weight more than 5 kgs with full metal gears on,including the battery. I worked in beverage industry and I know how heavy is a case of beer or 440ml filled cans (12kg).
Perhaps, this is the way they can charge us more on freight.....

-a misleading indeed, very shifty...

No offense, but read careful before you shoot your cannon.
Qty./ctn: 4 PCS
There are 4 tanks in one cartoon box and weights 21.6 kgs for Tiger 1. It is the standard packing from the Heng Long factory, so each tank G.W. is about 5 kg, nothing wrong about the description.
This toy-cn.com is located in Shautou, China and with the same logo as Mato toys Canada, I presume there are sister company and the nice thing is factory of Heng Long is also located at the same city. So, that means Mato Toys get the HL tanks factory direct. I guess.

Actually...
Shantou-Mato is the ~parent~ company for Mato Toys. Thats where the drop-shipments come from: direct from the factory. Now if only Tamiya USA would do that when they are out of stock (refer the order to Tamiya Japan)
Helps to have chatted with Murphy Ma a few times.

How much do they work out?
Hmm, tempting to order a bulk load and sell them on Ebay..

For the price you pay, you get a pretty good product. I guess that if you don't like the Mato's, you could always go for a Tammi, at four or five times the price.....

I believe that there is someone on this forum who should build himself a scale 17-pounder anti-tank gun, and instead of "blasting away" on this forum, could then actually fire away at what he doesn't like....
(I know where there are good plans for one of these, and you never have to worry about tracks, wheels or motore at all....)
Or maybe he could just modify 21st Century's 1/18 scale PAK. ....?
Now if we sould just get 20 of those "crummy" HL tanks to attack at the same time: "Up THREE! ...Over TWO!....FIRE!!"

For someone who "am nothing aganist mato" (hmm,, may be more there than meets the eye...), you sure spend a LOT of time knocking them. From personal experience and from most of what I have read here, Mato seems to be a pretty fair bunch of people and try to do thier best to give good service and keep thier customers happy.

Killick64,
You are correct.
Johnmar78, I appologize.
Killick64,
I do not deny that a Tammi is a 'better' tank. I prefer my 1874 Sharps in .45-110, but if I brought home a Tammi Tiger, my wife would use the Sharps on me. Hl may be a piece of .... comparred to the Tammi, but for the price, it does the job (with the right upgrades). I saw the issue as another slam on Matto. They done O.K. by me.
ArmChairGeneral,
My General, Surely, it is no secret....... and, it's not a plot, it's a planned enhancement.

I'm glad all you "other guys" don't post the same way! You've helped ma lot when it came to getting my 1/18 PzIV running more like a "Iank" than a Racecar.....Which I'm very grateful for. I plan on getting the HL Pz III , and again thanks to you I know what "mods" to consider.
....It won't be a Tamiya, but it'll do. I've OWNED Tamiya Tanks, and I know their quality, even in the "old" days.
If I'd listened to the "Basher" I couldn't be getting any tank at all! I think the key to getting this hobby to grow is being a wee bit "tactful" in what we post, as that's the key to getting "Newbies" interested in tanks!
Keep Tracking!

Hey John, you may want to try a Tamiya, they are more resilient and in the end it sounds like it may be cheaper for you

This panzer III i am using tiger dmd and it works fine. But I am repalcing the dmd with elmode stuff that has panzer III engine sound and this retains my original tiger dmd unit.
I will give elmode ago......

Oh, me thinks there is something else fueling this. Let us just say we understand your dislike for Mato and the poor quality of Heng Long tanks, when compared to your Tamiya's. You are a dissatisfied customer, and have lodged your complaints. Now can we move on. You are not going to convince me and countless others that there is much wrong with Mato. Many of also think that the Heng Longs even with all their shortcomings are a great value.

YHR, yes you are right.
I just ordered 210Euo of emode a complete new driving units for my panzer III, and meanwhile I switch back my tiger dmd units back to the original tiger. I will give emode a go since, they have 5 channel sounds which is better than Tamiya(3 channel) in a way.....
Yes, lets see how elmode behaves when I get the parts(2 weeks time). And I will let you guys know.
Meanwhile I tried to finish painting the final stage of panzer III......will post pic soon...

to run the tank with 100% emode no hl circuit board-rx13 or receiver...cost 220 euro. think booster M and TLS and think blaster , think drive. Use futaba 4 channel or 6 channel.
