Default REVIEW - Robitronic Scalpel 1/18 Scale Pan Car

Ok I recently finished my Robitronic Scalpel and wanted to tell everyone what a beast this thing is. I built it, and opted to go with a Mamba 8000Kv power system, Hitec 3 Ch Rx, HS 85 on the steering. I am using a stock battery from a E-Flite Blade CX2 which is a perfect and direct fit, if you put both the ESC and Rx on one side.

Where should I start? I kept laughing everytime I would go full throttle this thing must have been going 50-60mph in a matter of seconds. I have to loosen up the differential it is a little too tight as there was excessive wheel spin and a loose rear end. Which told me there was too much power going to the wheel that loses traction first, where if the differential was a little looser it would transfer power equivically until one tire loses grip, then power to that tire would decrease.

But the first couple of runs just tells me "I FREAKIN LOVE THIS CERTIFIED LIPO MISSILE" it is the fastest thing I own. And I own a couple of fancy nitros. Hands down even on a drag run I will wipe out almost anything out there up to 65mph and thats with the 7.4 Lipo. If and when I go to a 11.1 I hope to reach high 70mph. Ohh did I mention the handling? You might as well have taken these tires straight out of honey, they stuck to almost any surface I put them on, especially flat concrete.

I think every man in theyre lifetime should own one of these Scalpels before they croke over!!! It will add a good 5-10 years on the Ol' Ticker.

Get the Castlelink USB connector and you can adjust the throttle settings via your computer. That's a nice thing to have around to monkey with the Mamba.

The 8000kv in that must be nuts. We have guys who race 4-cell XRay M18s at our track and they're crazy-fast. Thing is, most aren't even using 8000kv motors but rather 6800kv. That scalpel must be crazy fast. Maybe get a motor heat sink and add a tooth or two to the pinion and go even faster!. Try to get it out onto a local race-track to see if it'll work there. You may need a large-scale track to run it on (for 1/10th cars).

Thats a great idea. I will need to tinker with the throttle, a hair too much at any speed at any angle will kick the tail out. I have to REALLY ease it unitl it goes full, and i will tell you this thing picks up speed so fast its psychotic. I mean its literally like a bullet you can shot at any direction. I think the best part about is the way it handles when it picks up a little speed, it may be the body or something I dont know, but it seems tu push to the ground at speed. I will also have to dial t down a bit, I built it for my nephew and theres no way he can drive it like this I might go to single cell Lipo for him or 2 A123's But it just needs to be toned down. As far as racing Im sure my setup is absolutely illegal, and if its not, it should be. I can also see how the 6-cell chassis might help with the added wheelbase.

Also how many teeth should be on the pinion with this 8000Kv motor?
