Default Scale Heli Fusilages

Hey
Anyone here know much about scale models?

What size Heli would this Bell 230 kit fit,
http://www.v-eastonline.com/grapbell230.html

Looking at the manual it could be that its a Heli in itself rather than a wrap around model type.

I cant read german so not really sure

It looks like a .60 or .90 nitro or turbine (your choice i guess).

Suggest you repost in the scale forum.

This won't fit on any Esky product currently available.

You might want to check out DarthDrk's (Ed) heli canopies... I've bought two so far and wouldn't hesitate with another. I'm working at putting a DragonFly body on one of my EXI 450's right now...

http://darthdrk.4t.com/

He has bodies for various sized heli's

Have you looked at Heli Artist. The make fuses from 300 to 600 size. Seem very nice and not ridiculously priced. Aroung $125 US.

Here is a link to the Heli Artist page: http://www.heliartist.com/index.html

And to my personal favorite fuselage Agusta A109 in white: http://www.heliartist.com/product_A109_White_V2.html

Those are links to the manufacturers web site, I had to google search for venders.

Here is a link to Heli Direct On sale for $99US

Air Wolf http://www.helidirect.com/product_in...oducts_id=7675

EDIT: Just a note that Hornet05 had some problems getting the FUSUNO brand Air Wolf to fit his Belt CP.
I have not herd of any problems with the Heli Artist fuselages.

aahhh.. as a side note... ANY scale body needs to have some fiddling around with in order to position and fasten it to the heli.. so ur comment about getting a body to fit needs to have more info about WHY he had troubles... as in wrong sizing, poorly matched model sides, to thick, to thin... and not hearsay.... nice to have a few relevant facts. Disney have you even put together a scale heli??? Just wondering because if you haven't then it would be hard to recommend a body no???

Yes I have built a scale heli.
As for the problems Hornet05 had/has the mount for the frame into the fuselage did not work at all. He has to build a new mount for the retracts and fuselage to the frame plate.. They were discussed earlier in Belt CP thread as well as the process I went through building a MD530 fuselage for my Belt CP.
And yes ALL fuselages will require fitting to the specific heli you are using it on.

Thank you, Yes I did all the work, what a P.I.T.A. I started with a clear lexan in 6 peices, then filled all the seams, and built the T-tail from basswood.

What did you use to fill the seams with... This has been my biggest problem... finding something not so hard and brittle or so oft and flexible that paint won't stick or the seams are always cracking... Right now I'm using an automotive glaze to fill seams...

I use 220 grit sand paper to sand down a piece of Basswood from and edge then mix the dust with Pactra Lacquer paint (Use a different color than the primer) to get a filler mix apply with a Q-tip sand repeat. takes a bit of time but gives a great finish.

EDIT: I also painted the blades, I took off the covering, and used Krazy glue as a sealer, applied and squegied out with a business card, then sanded filled and finished

Nice idea.... Think I'll try that on the next build... so all the seams have a wood strip run'n between the two plastic halves??? This correct?? Do you glue the strip in?? What about the funky corners and bends a body can come with too... what do you do for those??

Not all seams have reinforcing under them. The reinforcing is glued in. I also put shaped ribs into the curved surfaces to give some rigidity. Another trick I used it the hard clear plastic that comes on some packages to cut reinforcing and apply it to the inside of the fuselage where ribs won't work and I need more strength. Usually on the curved surfaces.

Yah... I use plastic from other packaging etc to stiffen areas that need a bit more re-enforcing too... The front of the canopy is the areas I had the most trouble with on my current project... The round curved front had trouble getting the right stuff to use and hold paint... Tried modelers putty, 4 diff brands and types and the best stuff I had on hand was the automotive glaze... Wanna buy some putty??? lol

Anyrate.... looks like you did a pretty decent job...

Ahhh, no thanks on the putty THe front of the fuselkage is where I use the ribs. I cut 3/16 balsa 1/4 inch wide and use an Xacto to score the side applied to the fuselage 1/8 in deep so that the wood will flex and use Zap to bond it to the lexan. It is put edge on. Gives a good amount of rigidity with very little weight gain

Used the Lacquer mix to fill them.
