HEY GUYS I JUST GOT MY P-47 AND TOOK IT TO CENTURY JET AND THE RETRACTS FOR THE NEW GOLD EDITION ARF FIT WITHOUT EVEN MODIFYING A SINGLE RIB!!!! THEY FIT RIGHT IN AND I DIDNT EVEN HAVE TO SAND A GEAR RAIL JUST DRILL YOUR HOLES AND THATS IT THEY FIT UNDER THE WING SKIN AND YOU CAN STILL USE THE GEAR DOORS THAT COME WITH THE ARF. IF YOU WANT A SET ID ORDER A PAIR NOW THEY ARE AVAILABLE AND FIT WITH NO TROUBLE . YOU WONT BE DISAPOINTED.

How do you get the panel lines straight over a curved surface like the top of the wing?

Often wondered what the best way to do that is.

Ladies and Gents,

MORE UPDATED NEWS on the .60 P-47 GEAR!!!
WE will have the CJM gear in route to us Monday! these are not retrofits or off the
shelf.. these units are MADE SPECIFICALLY for the .60 size TF P-47 ARF! The
gear put the wheels/axle at the Leading Edge where they belong and will help
prevent nose overs! The other nice thing is there are 2 options.

OPTION 1: Retracts with OFFSET STRUT. Can be mounted as drop in units, Offset
fork will only protrude approx 1/8" from the wingskin.
Instructions will be included to show how to drop retract down 1/8" to get it
flush with the skin. You can mount gear doors to these struts either way, and
at 1/8" it will not be noticeable when flying!

OPTION 2: Retracts with STRAIGHT STRUT. Mounts as drop in unit.
Strut is straight, Does NOT protrude. YOU can mount doors to these struts as
well.

Both sets come with airline, airtank, air fittings, airvalve and instructions!

My personal preference is OPTION #1 , easy to drop the strut down. Can easily
be done in 1 work session. Diagram, instructions included.

I WILL HAVE PHOTOS MONDAY to show you and you can see what I mean!

EMAIL ME DIRECT FOR A SPECIAL unadvertised price for RCU MEMBERS! [email protected]

PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR CHOICE ASAP as we will fill orders in order received!

-BEST REGARDS!

I cut out my Hatch today to see what we are working with.. it was a bit hard to cut nice.. but I got it pretty good.. just a little filler, sanding and covering and I'll be good to go. I have a roll on the way to cover it.. I want to rap into the the cutout and around the hatch anyway..

The hatch is really well done and tight fitting.. I'll work it into my panel lines to help hide it. So here is the low down on the packs.. I'm going to run two Thunder Power Pro Power 4s 30c 5000 mah packs (8s total) they are a perfect fit.. just a little dremel work to one former..remove and 1/8 and it's perfect. I you want to run one 6s brick it could be done.. you would just have to cut out the upper tray and put it down lower in the fuse and wing once the wing is on... I just hope it will balance out there's not alot of room to move the packs
so we shall see.. but so far so good

Later
Ronnie

Perfect weather on Saturday. Seven flights by me and two by others. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!! Full throttle passes a couple feet off the deck and you could have put the transmitter down. Not a single bounce on landing and the stock retracts performed flawlessly off grass. again, Wow!!!

Anyone finding a need for more speed with a 91 4 stroke and 14x6 or 14x7 props? Trying to finalize my power plant between the new OS 95AX 2 stroke, a 91 4 stroke, or possibly the new OS 110a. I have an OS 91 4S and a 14x6 in my Texan but I am thinking this should have more speed. Thoughts/recommendations? Thanks.

flyermark- what brand prop are you using on the OS91 4 stroke? I have found that master airscrew 14-8 prop performs well on the OS91SII-P engine I have, but the APC 14-8 does not turn up well on this engine. this is using 15% 4 stroke fuel.

14x7 on my OS 91 (non-pumped) planes. Was planning the same here. Not looking for racer speed but based on my Texan's performance I was thinking something more would be nice. I'll be buying the engine so all options are open.

Thanks for the input thus far.

If anyone is having a problem with the plastic retract gear boxes breaking I may have the solution.

The same thing happens with the Top Flite AT6 retract boxes. I designed an aluminum case that reinforces the gear box and has prevented the problem and allow the stock gear to work properly.

By looking at the P-47 pictures it looks like the same size. It is 1.75" long, 1" deep and 1.75" wide.

They cost $30.00 a pair including shipping.
